The collective meltdown Montreal had last night was hilarious. Apart from Wideman crying about Jett, you got some regional Habs Sportsnet reporter Eric Angels crying about the Toronto arena being quiet and claiming "they were trying too hard" to get the crowd to make noise. Then some unknown scabby podcaster was crying about Keefe icing his top guys on the PP.
It was a meaningless regular season game for Toronto. Sounds like it was the Stanley Cup final for Montreal.
Enjoy the icy golf courses Montreal. But look at it from a positive. At least you still have the Exp….

I'm always amused how a team that has won absolutely nothing since 1967 still manages to trigger so many small Canadian fanbases at once. Leafs fans at this point should learn the words to "No One Likes Us We Don't Care" by Millwall supporters and chant that at every home and away game.

I thought you couldn’t play as an ebug unless both goalies were hurt and unable to play (this was tried once in Philly years ago and refs sent ebug back to locker). If you can play anyone at anytime, why didn’t a team hold a lottery and put just anyone from the crowd in net and secure Bedard from the beginning?
Also why is this great to see? What would be great is if both teams had to pick someone of out crowd at beginning of the game. Also how is this fair to those in AHL who never get their shot and truly deserve it?
In no other sport will “someone out of the crowd” come in and get grace play time. This just seems like an odd decision that the NHL has been allowing more and more seemingly to create some buzz.
