He's a rental/option…but from what I'm seeing, he's a great fit for our specific needs. Adding more experience, size, versatility & grit. That's a realistic playoff formula.๐

Hey I'm very excited to see this player play and ekholm and I super excited to see those two players play on Saturday when they play the jets and I'm also going to see the oilers play the jets live on Saturday in winnipeg at the Canada life center!!!! I think it's going to be one of the greatest NHL games of this season and I'm so happy to beable to get tickets and go see that and support our visiting Edmonton Oilers take on the home Winnipeg Jets, I hope to see alot of oilers fans there on Saturday and cheer super hard and beat those jets, LETS GO OILERS!!!!!!!!
Back-to-back home-and-home between the Oilers and Jets coming up before Edmonton begins their last stretch of games against the Atlantic division and the Eastern Conference. I would like to see one more move to shore up the Top 6 for when Kane is able to come back before the deadline comes and goes. If we are able to move out Ceci on defence we could always call up Koekkoek if necessary.
Great signing by ole Kenny! Nick might be switching out from Hunter's #72. He wants 27, but that should perhaps be only worn by Oiler enforcers.
Yamo needs to bulk up and change his body composition if he expects to stay in the league. Smaller guys like him need to become thick with strong cores and lower bodies to play long in the NHL kinda like Marty St Louis. Otherwise, his career might be pretty short.
Loved both the Ekholm and bjugstad trades. Didnโt give up much for bjugstad and he can make an impact now. As for erik karlsson, can you really trade for him and then sign bouchard to a 3-4m contract? Personally now that we got Ekholm, karlsson seems like 1 in a billion. TVR interests me, but youโd have to swap out one of ceci, bouchard, deshairnais, or kulak out of the lineup to have him in. Probably ceci the other way, but even then ceci puts up 20m and is good defensively. So I think a d man is not needed when you look at who you have to part with, unless you send broberg down and give him 20m in the American hockey league
I donโt understand why EK is so attractive for the oilers. Same with Matt dumba just not at all helpful defensively it just angers me as a wild fan watching him play heโll give decent effort for 15% of his shift then nothing.
I am Warren Foegelle fan Iโm been cheering for that guy for awhile he been so close all around the net and heโs finding his way hate see him go. I also like Derek Ryan not the biggest guy either but has great hockey IQ and he can be slippery around the net I think heโs really earned his spot on the team. Another guy donโt want to see go.
you know, i sure wish people would stop talking about foegele as a tonsil, appendix, or foreskin. Hes doing as much as kostin from what i see. He vould be gold in the playoffs. give him a chance guys.
People wanted trades and that comes with a cost. The fact that only one player from the farm was given up and one from jr as well is a bonus! Slowly Hollandโs hands are being untied but like other teams running on empty!
I love the trades that Ken Holland made. I could care less what he had to give up. You have to give to get, especially if you want the other team to retain salary. Big deal if he had to give up Schaefer, Kesselring, and picks to do that.Those aren't huge losses, and the time to win is now. Ekholm looked great, and Bjugstad will help at the bottom 6, who can help us with faceoffs.
how dafuq do they do colton parayko when he makes 6.5 for like a million years? Lol, not gonna happen. The moves are fine, I'm good if Holland stands pat here. Depth doesn't hurt, but we do have that internally, and if you run into injuries, you kinda gotta just trust you did a good job drafting and developing at that point.

Bjugstad is a lunch pail guy that will bring some more grit to the 3rd or 4th line. Like this move a lot.
