This week I talk to two teams that earned unlikely first round sweeps; the Moose Jaw Warriors and Peterborough Petes.
Denton Mateychuk and his Moose Jaw Warriors were favoured to win their 4-5 series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes thanks to a 3-1 season series win. After a 2-1 double overtime game one win no one would have predicted a Warriors sweep.
The 4th seeded Peterborough Petes lost their season series against the Sudbury Wolves 3-1 and as you’ll hear from New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann the Petes weren’t picked by many to win their first round series let alone sweep.
