If Skinner was playing at the top of his game we would’ve won. Their goalie let one bad one in as well so that’s a Saw-off. I can see in this game why Vegas is in first- incredibly hard checking team, barely noticed McDavid compared to other games. Oilers are far too fancy with the puck; Yamamoto giveaway and many others in our own end instead of just getting it out and playing north-south. Vegas is also a great transition team.
The guys didn't play great in the 3rd period. They also lack understanding about not killing yourself in OT as I'm fairly sure Ekholm couldn't get off the ice for what, the entire OT or something ridiculous. Reffing. Ah that crosscheck on Connor (plus others to others) that weren't called, well I can see that being the same in the playoffs so I can only think guys are going to get their spines adjusted a LOT by lumber (or some refs needing security or both). Wasn't this the year (week) they were going to crack down on crosschecks? I mean that lasted exactly long enough to not even register in memory or what. Player Safety is Job None apparently. Stars are just targets that get paid more not prime assets to be protected. Please understand, I'm not saying the refs ignored some of what Oilers players did too I'm just saying the egregious stuff should be at least called "once in awhile". Can we say Ekholm and Bouch are our number one D pairing? For time on ice maybe but not for who they face. Nurse and Ceci still take more "elite competition" minutes. One stat I really DIDN'T like is Leon's team leading 5 giveaways. FIVE for a guy who typically guards the puck like most mother birds guard their eggs. Something just seemed a bit "off" in this game. Like a tenth of a second behind on some things, a lag. Maybe it's just loss bias, not sure. I mean it was a very close game. The Oilers got a looser point but something just seemed slightly wrong. I think the guys play better when they're 11-7 not 12-6. I mean playing Shore and Kostin the amount played wouldn't they have been better off having the extra D? Goalies got better after letting in the first one. Maybe defense tightened up a bit too.

VEGAS SUCKS
You can’t just leave a guy sitting by your goalie especially in OT… at least we got a point though, gg Golden Knights
