Who do we all think is going to win this one? I can’t see Vesey getting it. Morrissey on Winnipeg (see the recent ESPN piece on his story)? Someone else?

Dominic Moore deserved it, not sure himmy meets that standard.

I’m totally biased here, but I absolutely think he meets the qualifications. He came out of college looking like he was going to be pretty damn good. He did okayish for the Rangers on his first go, but not great, definitely not 1st or 2nd line level. Got traded, and his game completely fell apart. Kept getting bounced around, he was a mess, his game was a mess. But he kept trying to get better, got in the right mental space and pushed through. He went from basically a last chance PTO deal to signing a 2 year contract. He went from a lot of potential but no consistency to becoming Mr. Reliable – he’s not a big scorer, he’s not a 1st line superstar. But he busts his ass, he’s where he’s supposed to be on the ice, he doesn’t take stupid penalties, he sets up opportunities for his teammates, and he takes shots when he’s got one. He fought for his chance and he’s earned that contract. Persistence, dedication and sportsmanship. He’s got all of that.

Letang probably wins the award, but Vesey totally deserves the nomination.

As good a nomination as we can supply I think. Vesey’s been a good story and great at his role after being shaky the first time around. He seems to have reinvented himself.

This feels like a league-wide Steven McDonald extra effort award. Kudos to Jimmy, works his ass off for us.

Sammy Blais nominated by STL. He’s a stronger choice than vesey, imo

  7. Plus Vesey looks like an accountant. He should get points for that. Throws the opposition off 😆

  9. Makes me think Vesey is going to get the Steven McDonald assuming the media and the press have the same viewpoints. I voted for Vesey – he’s played way better than anyone expected, helped us a lot with big goals when we were shaky in the beginning of the season, and has become super reliable every game on top of taking the friendly contract to remain a Ranger. I really hope he gets it, it would be a full circle moment for him in his career.

Just give it to Kessel… all-time NHL ironman, he deserves it.
