[Spaulding] With Carolina’s loss and the Rangers falling in a shootout, here is what’s on the line tomorrow: Devils clinch first round home ice with a point and can take over first place in Metro with a win and a Carolina loss of any kind or an OT loss coupled with a Canes regulation loss.

Big night for us tonight and we didn’t even play
We need to bring the heat against Buffalo, from the very first face off.
Sit L. Hughes. We need to win the next two.
Carolina going on a 3 game skid and going 4-6 in their past 10 games really was the only scenario that would give the Devils a chance to win the division.
Now it’s which team does better over these last two games.
For anyone who doesn’t know: The top 3 tiebreakers in order are Regulation Wins (RW), Regulation and Overtime Wins (ROW), and head-to-head points (H2H).
We lead the Rangers in RW by 1, but they only have one game remaining, so best case scenario is they tie us there and we’re 5 ahead of them in ROW, so there’s no scenario they can beat us on tiebreakers. Therefore, one more point and we secure home ice for the first round.
For Carolina, we lead in RW by 1, ROW by 2, and we won the H2H points. So 1 more RW would clinch the tiebreakers, but obviously we’d still need to catch them in points lol.
TL;DR: For the division, root for a regulation win tomorrow, but any win still keeps us in a good position. For first round home ice, one more point is all we need.
It’s like Carolina is begging the Devils to take the division from them, and every chance they have to do it, Devils lose too.
As much as I’d love to see the sabres in the playoffs cause Levi is a g, I hope we stomp the fuck out of the sabres tomorrow
LOL imagine Rangers fans spent $500 on tickets that end up being for Devils / Islanders
