Game plan: put JT out for half the OT period, use magnetism to get freak breakaway, add a filthy, sexy, hot move—>prosper

  2. frmacleod

I didn’t give a shit about that game until they won. Felt good snatching hope from Florida.

  3. SaintMarzano

Is Sportsnet on fucking crack with those puck-carrier graphics in OT?

Also, how the fuck does Lyon freeze the puck between the hash marks and not get a delay of game penalty? Get fucked.

  4. Shabloinks

    That’s my fucking captain

    Also, Samsogoat

  5. MyFriendJamieSucks

Samsonov deserves all 3 stars. Big momentum game for him.

  6. ConsularCandidate

Got the W, Samsonov looks playoff ready, Knies looked good, nobody got hurt.

    Good shit.

  7. Jakovasaurr

John Tavares keeping the Islanders in the playoff race

  8. Mo and JT were amazing holding that line in the OT there

  9. GoatStimulator_

Refs can eat shit. They let Florida do anything

Edit: it’s not why Toronto almost lost, was just typical watching them do nothing

  10. DarkAgeMonks

I wonder what JT was saying to the Florida Bench at the end.

  11. jokerjoust

Honestly, how do you not resign Samsonov? Guy has been nothing but solid all season

  12. Puckposts

So I missed the game, flying home from Florida in the morning,

    How did knies look ?

  13. Samsonov and Tavares just has them dawgs in them!

  14. DangleCellySave

Sportsnet broadcast could only talk about 2 things the whole night

    1. IS SAMMY INJURED? GUYS LOOK HE MIGHT BE INJURED. OH MAYBE HE JUST GOT INJURED AGAIN. OH LOOK MATHEWS IS INJURED, INJURY INJURY INJURY INJURY INJURY INJURY INJURY

    And

    2. We dont know how cap works, but let us try to talk about it like we do and say the moves the Leafs have to do in order to not play Samsanov, who btw might get injured. Oh yeah Knies first game td ig

JT chirping the FLA bench as he skates by after the win… you love to see it

  16. Dergle_McChurgleson

I just wanna say a hearty fuck you to all the John Tavares haters

  17. spite_as_an_arrow

Did anyone catch the Florida players sticking around as the Leafs were celebrating at the end? Looked like some chirping going on, wondered what was going on. Maybe from the Brodie play earlier in OT?

  18. toedragrelease

Sammy won that game. That huge save leading to Tavares goal. And Tavares chirping the bench on the way by was just the icing on the cake.

  19. Fuuutuuuree

Panthers are a dirty cocky little bunch. Would be a real shame if the Isles and Pens won out and they missed the postseason after playing like desperate madmen for the last 2 weeks

  20. nthensome

I may be a man in my 40s but I want to have Samsonov’s babies

  21. asheeponreddit

JT saw everyone talking shit in the game thread and said, “Bet.”

Great game from Samsonov, I really hope we rest him tomorrow.

Knies with a couple mistakes, which is to be expected, but I loved that you knew every time he was out there. Great energy and I think the kid’s got a bright future in TO.

  22. Jaymesned

Can we just ice the Marlies and/or the Growlers tomorrow night?

  23. SyphiliticPlatypus

Knies looked fantastic on that first shift, showing that his puck control and bodying skills can shine at this level.

Came down to earth a little on his subsequent shifts and at times looked like a rookie thrust onto a team with chemistry, where he still needs to build it with them.

Some cleanup needed (specifically skating with purpose and keeping his feet moving instead of gliding and watching) but overall a really great showing with no prep.

Really great to see him out there and excited to see him continue to show us what he’s got in this last handful of games.

  24. SowerPlave

The Maple Leafs won on overtime? With Tavares on the ice?? With Tavares scoring the OT decider??? Anyone waking me from this dream will get a headbutt and regret it

    TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS 2

    FLORIDA KITTENS 1

I watched the OT again, and even though JT scored after a 2:30+ min shift, he did a great job of conserving his energy throughout. By contrast, Tkatchuk who couldn’t catch him, only had a 1min+ shift but was flying around the offensive zone.
