Gil I will always listen to your show! I’m just defeated at the moment. Depleted caps team and this? Ilya let us down tonight—but his 🤬🤬🤬team should have bailed him out with a 3/4 goal game. Bottom line? If we had a true goal scorer (Laine) and he could have been had with all the 🤬🤬🤬 1st rounders given away——this game would have been won. We live and die by the sword? Sword? Down 2/3 going into the 3rd! This team regardless of first two goals—-yet again—-we’re not ready to play!!! Not ready to play!! An experienced team NOT READY TO PLAY!!! Coach—-out!! Gm—-out!! Gm? Why? Aside from many reasons—-he has never addressed the 7 year Elephant in the 🤬🤬🤬 ROOM!!! A goal scorer!!! Kidding me??? Bo? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???
"Unacceptable" is the kindest thing you can say about this non effort. This was a disgrace. After going down 3-0 and with more than 2 periods to play, they were perfectly content to flush the entire season down the toilet. This loss had less to do with talent than about a total lack of commitment. All year long I've heard from the GM, coach, and players about the character of this team, but when character was needed, it was nowhere to be found. Why waste time and money supporting this team when its pretty obvious the game is nothing more than a paycheck to them.
I'm going to save my doom and gloom for another couple of nights (Wednesday night specifically), but if this team doesn't make it….I would be baffled if heads don't roll on the roster and management front.
Some days,..it’s just really, really tough to hang in there with this organization. But,..here I am, still holding out for a shot at winning the whole damn thing.
No BS,.there are literally days when I think about the Blue and Orange and I think to myself quietly, “the F$&#iNG ISLANDERS.” 🤬🤬
They do that to me. Then I’m back the next day cheering for them, and praying for a better outcome.
Gil, tonight the players made a statement and it was that they don’t care if the make the playoffs cuz they’re getting paid either way ! Ledecky should make a statement 8 hrs from now and that’s by firing Lou and Lame ! That statement might send a shimmer of hope to fans that actually know how to play hockey that the team underachieved and that it was tolerated for far too long ! Lee, Mayfield, Clutter, Pelech and Holmstrom need to go. Whether they retire, get traded or demoted, I couldn’t care less. My wife was gonna get my season tickets last off season for my bday and I told her not to. I haven’t been to UBS yet and I won’t go until major changes occur. I’m not spending any $$ on a group that doesn’t seem to care. Once again, great show Gil !

Un fkn believable but not unexpected. Isles were due for one last stinker. Last night in d c was it. In a contest of which team will blink first isles did. And with fla. getting the bettman loser point isles now have to beat habs, have cats lose in reg., and have pens lose at least once to get in since fla. has tie breaker. And sabres who won are still in it with three more games to go at 87 pts.
And this is on lane. I said isles couldn't afford one night off the last week or it would cost them a playoff spot and lane should take the blame if they do. This ugly loss probably put the nail in isles coffin. And on the verge of a playoff spot that was isles for the taking most of the season slipping away at the end lou should learn the phrase 'one is a fluke-two is a trend' as isles tumble out of playoff contention and miss playoffs a second straight season. What a difference an offense that could score at least 3.2 gpg would have made this season.
Lane got to go
I knew they would have a few duds down the stretch. But this is more than a few. They need a lot more work in the off season.
