Montreal’s Edmundson and Toronto’s Bunting get into it behind the net. Edmundson follows Bunting to the blue line where he crosschecks Bunting from behind. Simmonds comes in to deal with Edmundson where he is immediately grabbed by two Habs players. Penalties were as follows: Edmundson and Bunting unsportsmanlike conduct, Edmundson crosschecking, and Wayne Simmonds double minor for roughing against Edmundson putting the Habs on the powerplay.

Yeah, the "unsportsmanlike" was petty and vindictive.
I wouldn’t exactly call that a cross check, more like a gentle push, but penalty nonetheless.
