This team has zero direction. Haven’t been very motivated to go to games due to how mediocre and unmotivated players are. It’s been either not making the playoffs or a first round exit since this team has arrived here and we have only had 1 good season. Heck ever since that year jets would collapse every season and it’s frustrating to watch

Classic franchise mode, you increase profits at the expense of fan happiness. You stop winning in the playoffs and it crushes your season ticket base. They did this to themselves over multiple years.

“Our commitment to keeping the Jets in Winnipeg, forever, has never been stronger. But it takes all of us. Together.”

Wow isn’t that bold after two years of shitty play and price gouging.

So demand has dropped due to insane increases, crappy on ice product, wage stagnation, inflation, but buy Jets tickets or else we’ll move again? Fuck you Chimpman.

He needs this team more than we do. He’s the one with an office tower. Multifamily towers and more on the way, all surrounding the arena. If Jets leave he’s equally as fucked.

little bit of wishful thinking. This is the first full year they have not had ticket-holders locked into 5-year commitments, so of course they would start a ticket drive, and what better time than when it looks like the Jets are going to squeak into the playoffs.

Besides, True North is not a hockey company, they are much-much more diversified from 11 years ago. Once they take over Portage Place they’ll be one of the larger land owners in the city, own a casino, 2 premium space office towers and are one of the only entertainment venues downtown that is either not to small of a concert, or too big like the stadium. Jets are fine.

Is it actually a possibility that we could be moved again?

    My friend just now:

“paying 1000s to watch overpaid players earn $$$ for billionaire owners is the first thing cut when times are tough.”

    Can’t say I disagree.

to be completely honest, if this team is forever winnipeg, then dont worry about profits.

But that isnt the case, its a business and they want it to make money, so they keep raising prices and here we are, theyve priced people out of attending.

also listen to the fans. fans arent happy with this teams direction. majority of the core doesnt seem to care and their contracts are almost expired. theyve picked it up last few games, had they done this all season, this is probably a non issue.

i personally have lost hope in this organizations leadership from the top down. chipman is too loyal to people, its a business not a family. chevy has had 12 years and his 5 year plan is 7 years past due.

  8. This video is insane. If TNSE would stop settling for mediocrity & consistently ice a quality product with a financially worth it game day experience then we wouldn’t be having this convo. At the end of the day it’s on then & shifting the blame onto us feels cheap and insincere!

I love the Jets and I am super excited for the playoffs but to come at us like this with this shit when they have made numerous questionable decisions over the past few years is a level of denial I find hard to believe. Your coach walked out on you because you were too blind to do it yourself while everyone knew the obviously correct decision was to make changes a long time ago and then wonder why the fans are wary to spend their hard earned money in a difficult time financially. The team has no clear direction because you half ass many team building decisions so we have half ass attendance.

It feels wrong to be typing such a negative writeup about the team when I am all aboard the playoff hype train and will go to as many games as I can afford and every whiteout party. I really hope we make a run and I believe if we play well we can do it. But I had to say something, the ominous threat really pisses me off.

And leave my boy Kenny Omega out of it!

Improve the on ice product, improve the in game fan experience, and demonstrate that there’s a plan for the future and people will support the team.

This message was ridiculous to be honest. “It takes all of us together”! Don’t think so. Franchise needs a new identity and direction. New core, new coaches and possibly a new GM. Financially this franchise is being operated properly this time around and has zero chance of moving with the amount of diversification and pocket depth involved. That being said, times will be challenging for a few years with the massive drop in season ticket holders that has occurred since Covid. STH revenue makes up the biggest percentage of their revenues and I don’t see this situation getting any better in the near term either. They are selling a product that literally has no value anymore. Pay on average $150 a seat as a STH and struggle to sell your tickets for less than cost when you can’t go? All of this during a tough economy and while the team has really been struggling. Not good. Hoping for a better future. A few weeks ago was the first time I had to consider canceling. In for one more year, Go Jets Go!

16k for a pair of tickets in the 200s at centre ice. 👍
$31.50 for 2 Rum and cokes. Ok 👌

Lol if they don’t know what the issue is they are disconnected.
