  1. What he said was way too harsh. The Calgary Flames managed to finesse themselves out of a rebuild this year with losing players Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk. Yes, they did get some pick ups through trades, but you really can’t expect a coach to have a whole new group of top guys and expect them to have chem off the rip. It’s the first year with this group I think Calgary cuts there losses and anticipate for next years free agency and making cap space. Not blaming sutter he wasn’t the one that got rid of there too 2 players for two struggling top liners

  2. Reasons For Failure:

    1. Nick Ritchie Getting Sent Out Over Lindholm, Mang and other options that are better

    2. Sutter and Brad Trev hate each other and I do expect both to be fired

    3. This season is not on markstrom,he gave it is all but the team in front of him failed to convert.

    4. With the depth of talent this team has we should we blowing teams out of the water but not.

    5. Expect Bruce there it is to be in next year, maybe he’ll get kadri and huberdeau going as those may become the worst contracts ever given

  3. I don’t understand why people are harping on Sutter as the problem.
When your starting goalie has an .892 save percentage, that is the only reason the Flames are golfing in April

  4. Coaches have a short shelf life typically. Winning coaches last a bit longer for obvious reasons. Sutter is an amazing combo of a winning coach with a short shelf life

  5. Unless he's the one who suggested hey trade Tkachuk for Huberdeau (disappointing season) and Weegar (as advertised, but a drop-off in offense) than he's not all that happened to drop them 20 pts (so far) from last year.

  6. Anybody notice the odd trend of every former and current goalie taught by Ian Clarke did god awful this year? Man is arguably the best goalie coach in the league too which makes it so odd

  7. Ngl im so happy the flames are out im sad it wasn't the oilers doing it but all thanks to the preds

  8. Not Markstroms fault sorry he sucked for the Edmonton round last year and sucked for 75 percent of this year yes this is partly his fault. And to his credit said so.

  9. This season for the Flames can be summed up as a series of festering wounds that were self-inflicted at every opportunity……….

  10. The overall "style" of play CGY subscribes to, that is from the coaches.
A shoddy backend in uncharacteristic bad goaltending by Markstrom, and an atrocious offense that has no creativity, lazy skating and awful playmaking with underwhelming high shots on goal. Add these together, and that equals the season.
A change in style is needed. Muller, Huska and Sutter can kick rocks. GTFO.

  11. He tried to make that legendary Ritchie swap look like the deal of the decade. Had the game on his stick. EPIC FAIL for sure. Bye Sutter! (I hope) 🤞👋

  12. Yes Markstrom could have been the saviour, but I blame most of this on our defensive breakdowns, horrible scoring ability and our niche to take crappy shots in OT that lead to odd man rushes.

  13. 17 OT losses so instead of 17 points double those losses to 34 points now attach those points to their record they have 108 points be neck and neck with Edmonton and Vegas right now.
