The Bruins defeat the Capitals 5-2, giving them 133 points on the year and setting the NHL record for points in a season, passing the 1976-77 Canadiens
The Bruins will beat the Islanders in a 4-game sweep in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, the Bruins will beat the Maple Leafs 4 games to 3 in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and the Bruins will lose to the Devils 4 games to 2 in the Eastern Conference finals and their historic 2022-23 season will be over.
The funny thing about this? It’s all coming full circle. Going into the year, nobody expected the Bruins to be any better than good, let alone this dominant. But after the upset victory in the season opener for the B’s, where we won 5-2 without Marchand, without McAvoy, and all these big pieces in our roster missing, it was then when the attitude towards the Bruins started to turn around. Who else would that upset win be against than the Washington Capitals. Then, fast forward 6 months to tonight, the Bruins have now beaten the all time points record against none other than the team we proved we could be good against all that time ago. As with any year, we’ve gone through some major changes since October, having new players traded in, players traded out, new rookies called up, injuries and recoveries. It feels poetic to beat this record against the team we upset, not to mention to beat them with the exact same score we won by in October
I'd like to see a Bruins vs Oilers finals. I think that would be one of the best championship series of all time, in any sport. It might be the Bruins' time.
Not a hockey fan but I like to see history being made in any sport. The Bruins are clearly the best team in a generation, and comparison is futile vs Canadiens 76-77 who played 80 games with a 61-8-11 record, before overtime wins existed, because I recognize that the eras are different blah blah blah. One thing though: the Bruins still need to win the Stanley Cup this year or their achievement will be diminished.
Let's just not forget what happened to Tampa a few years ago after they tied the record. Not that Boston will collapse like that, but you never know in hockey!
So that Montreal team probably would’ve had 142 points They went 60-8-12 Let’s say they win 10 out of those 12 ties in OT that’s 142 and hoisted the trophy 🏆 They did have 9 Hall of Famers tho They also dominated 75-76 and 77-78 3 straight cups
HOWEVER, there is a salary cap now and a lot of parity
If the Bruins win this Cup trophy 🏆 I’m giving them the edge for sure. They probably have 3 current Hall of Famers not 9

Can someone tell Jack Edwards to retire please?

Watched them win in 2011 and watched them loose twice on home ice in the finals. This year feels special, let’s continue this into the playoffs

Congrats that’s awesome 🎉
THATS MY TEAM
In the "modern" era. 5 Loser points has them at 128
hope Lindgren is alright, thats a nominee for Save of the Year!
Go Bruins! #Cuptime
One of the greatest teams I have seen and I have been watching hockey for 50 years!
Yyyeee hhhaaa GO BRUINS ✊
I'm glad Smith was apart of this
Bruins broke the record for wins and points in a single season now all they need to do is to win the Stanley cup
they gotta do it for jack this year……i feel like jack is gonna drop some pretty heavy news whenever this bruins season comes to an end.
Congratulations Boston on a wonderful season.
Lets not act like there was OT back in the day. The Bruins wouldnt have came close to the Candiens in points if OT actually existed
Wtg
Stanley Cup is the biggest prize

B'SSSSSSSSSSSSS
still lost to the blackhawks
Beat Montreal’s record👍🏻!!!
Congrats Boston
Greatest regular season of all time. Now got to win the cup. Without that it’s all meaningless.

All it took was a coaching change.
Bruins>
Suck it habs!!! Lol😂😂😂
How can you compare teams when the scale for points and games played are not the same😮

Those are my boys!!!! ❤❤❤
Congrats 🖤💛🖤
congrats to Boston but I still hate that jack Edwards had the joy of seeing his team do well yet again
But ironically, imagine this would be the year the Leafs wins it all 🏆
How bout that for a crazy storyline?!
GO BRUINS 🙏
They might be the real deal lol
I can imagine the amount of salty tears from other team's "fans"
The only thing I hate about the bruins being so good is hearing jack Edwards insufferable commentary… I feel bad for bruin fans everywhere
I can´t imagine any current team beating Boston 4 times… Only Oilers or Devils maybe 2 times but definitely not 4.
63 wins… 133 points… Anything less than Lord Stanley's Cup this June will be a HUGE disappointment. Go B's!!! Let's bring home a 7th Cup!
Now with the playoffs coming, it's time to brawl and maul.
