The Edmonton Oilers were involved in another tight playoff-like hockey game last night against the Colorado Avalanche. After going down 1-0 in the first period, the Oilers responded immediately with a heavy shot from Mattias Ekholm. Neither team could score another in regulation sending the game to overtime. Avalanche defenceman, Bowen Byram took a hooking penalty on Connor McDavid which led to a 4-on-3 powerplay for Edmonton. Evan Bouchard capitalized on the opportunity with his 7th of the season giving the Oilers a 2-1 victory.

Yes, Colorado was missing some key players but this win is big for the Oilers confidence moving into the playoffs. They now know Colorado are human and bleed like the rest of us.
