Is there a possibility that the Washington Capitals could trade Tom Wilson?



In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the possibility of the Capitals trading Tom Wilson. Wilson only has one year left on his contract with the Capitals. Would they ever entertain the idea of trading him. Dan Rosen on NHL.com said: “Maybe Mantha gets traded. Maybe Wilson does. I don’t think you can rule it out because his contract expires after next season. But the Capitals are not tearing it down and it’s hard to do an invasive surgery to the roster with the contracts they have signed and the history the greatest player in team history is embarking on.” Later Dan talks about how TJ Oshie is out for the remainder of the season and what that means for his future and the future for the Capitals.     All those people who want the Caps to tank and rebuild need to understand that it’s young healthy players like Wilson they will yield more in return than older beat up players like Oshie or Backstrom. The clowns at Stars and Sticks are always going on about trading Mantha, Oshie, Kuzy, or Backstrom not realizing that to trade those contracts means retaining salary and giving up draft picks or prospects. You won’t be able to get better from those trades.

    Thank you for the updates Dan. As pertaining to Tom Wilson, I seriously doubt that a trade is in his future. I would suggest that he may/will be the future captain of the Caps once Ovi retires. Trading Tom Wilson will undoubtedly be to the detriment of the Caps as a whole.
