Well it’s been a wild season see ya next year

  4. Interbrett

Great season on reddit. Great fan base, imagine what this place will be like when we are actually winning and competing!!

Stay safe everyone, see ya in the threads through out the summer.

If Bieksa isnt Cheech’s replacement I riot. As per Van tradition. For real though. I grew up hearing this man cast my favourite team basically my entire life watching hockey. Very bittersweet night.

  6. HanSolo5643

Getting Cheetch a win was nice. But now if you will excuse me I will be cutting onions now.

  7. ebb_omega

Hughes left everything on the ice this year. That kid was solid right up until the last period+OT. Just completely gassed.

Rest up this offseason and get your conditioning up so that he’s ready to beast through the playoffs.

  8. pennepasta14

I’m sorry I know now is not the time but im curious

have they announced who is actually replacing cheech’s position?
    cheech himself is irreplaceable

  9. nite_awol

this season has aged me at least 5 years.

thank you Cheech for all the memories listening to you.

congrats to Petey, Kuz, Quinn on their great season.

come back next season with the hunger we played with for the last two months and we’re making the playoffs next year..

  10. shadownet97

Ups and downs but it’s been a pleasure hanging out yall. See you all in the draft lottery when we pick #1 OA no matter how many times Bettman tries to rig it against us!

  11. zeedonutnovel

Don’t be sad it’s over, be glad it happened. Thank you, Cheech.

And 11thOA ain’t so bad, you guys. Could be worse… like Calgary who were supposed to be contenders and missed just the same. Lmao

  12. MaxHardwood

There should be a new points system for draft lottery purposes, after the trade deadline. The Canucks would have tremendous odds in that scenario! They play their hearts out for pride. It is beautiful.

  13. oomlotte5

I never thought I’d get emotional over a photo of ketchup on a hotdog.

Shorty was bang on when he said John Garrett came prepared, respected the players, and brought fun and levity to the games.

    Thank you for everything, Cheech!

  14. YouCanFucough

    We are all Cheeches 😭

Ggs everyone. Maybe we win the lottery, maybe we make the playoffs next year, maybe we even win the cup. Somehow I keep hoping. Time for playoffs and then silly season 🎉

  15. smokylimbs

First game of the season is going to be so weird without him.

    See you next season 🏒🏒🏒

  16. 21marvel1

Thank you to all the users this year for making this a great place for Canucks fans (even though some of you gotta chill sometimes hahaha)

Let the shitposts and memes begin!

  17. Largebargecharge

    God what a disappointing season

  18. SkidmarkDave

Everyone’s gonna be so mad when we win the lottery LOL

  19. homemade_vancouver

Garland with his first career hattie against the team that drafted him and saying goodbye to Cheech. A season that could have been better but a memorable one tonight!

“Golf season… STARTS RIGHT NOW!” — Brendan Batchelor

  21. ChasmRift21

It’s been real. Garlands a beast, Cheech was the best. Ready to slam my head into the wall next season!

  22. Woooooody

I missed postgame Cheech because my cat was being sick 🙁 she is clearly distraught about the whole thing! (Or she ate her food too fast)

  23. Firefox64

Anyone know if a replay of the game is a thing at all? I couldn’t watch tonight but i wanted to see it for Cheech!

  24. stormcanuck

Roller coaster of a season. Looking forward to next… i’m just hoping it won’t be an exact repeat of the previous two 😅

  25. sMc-cMs

If you’re still a Season Ticket Holder…. Are you still supporting this crap?

  26. iburneddinner

I’m going to miss Cheech so much 🥺

    And I welcome shitposting season.

  27. metrichustle

What a great last game for Garland. Need to see more of that throughout the season though

  28. Nucksfan23

Same amount of wins on the season as the Flames while having a way better pick

  29. Ikea_desklamp

Worst possible season frankly. No playoffs, shitty draft odds anyways, our stars are 1 year older and we are still a capped out team with no prospects and nothing to show for any of it. Absolute tire fire.

  30. marmite1234

On the balance, a really negative season for me. We’ll come out of this season likely with around 10 overall in the draft. Aquilini will have sold a few hundred more season tickets based on ‘hope’ from a new coach bounce + a weak schedule. And we carry on.

What difference did these wins make? None at all in terms of long term success. For the love of God why couldn’t we ride out the season with Boudreau, collect the high pick in a super-talented class, and make the changes in the off season? I’ll tell you why! To sell a few more season tickets.

Just feels like this is an organisation not serious about winning.

And nice hanging with you all! Have a great summer.
