    5 years is a tad long imo but to lock him in at 2.1 was worth it. Minimal cap effects if something goes untoward in the later years

    Love the deal. Even if he eventually gets put in a 4th line role towards the end of the deal, 2.1 million won’t be tough to swallow once the Parise/Suter buyouts clear and the cap goes up.

    Hopefully a Gus extension is soon as well.

    This is the type of deal championships are won with. There is more work to be done, but stuff like this and the Hartman deal are the reason we aren’t rebuilding despite 14M cap down the drain.
