Richest contract in nucks history probably. He deserves it.
He’s basically Datsyuk with probably a little more offense but not as good in the faceoff dot. Nick Suzuki has the same problem. He can learn. If they hadn’t alienated Trevor Linden, he would have made a good teacher.
Hes going to earn 200k more than Mitch Marner. Which is fine but the Canucks need him under 10m to be competitive.

He is defintley one of greatest player in the lieug and deserv the money but he still very young so i dont know maybee not put too much press on him with this money.
With Miller sucking up $8M and OEL sucking up $8.25, if Petty gets the $11M he deserves, the Canucks will only be able to surround them with AHL call ups. Enjoy your next ten years of mediocracy Vancouver.
His market value is really high, kind of like how Boston did theirs. None of their stars got crazy money. But Vancouver wants to pay crazy money let them. It is just teams that really want to win their top players will play at a discount. Never win a Cup, but look at Petey score.
I understand these star players wanting to get paid, however in a salary cap world if a large portion of salary is going to one player then the roster has to be filled out with journeymen and pylons. The only reason the Canucks were as good as they were in 2011 was because everyone with the exception of Luongo took a home town discount to be able to ice a team that could compete for a Stanley cup and they almost achieved that.

nobody should earn millions of dollars playing sports its pathetic , while millions of hard working people can barely get by .
There needs to be an equal balance of income for everyone or at least something far better that the current hell we are subject to
