To me it’s going to come down to goaltending. And being a caps fan, I’d personally have a lot more trust in Andrei Vasilevskiy than Samsonov.
If the leafs lose again, my goodness idk how they can come back from that. It would be 7 straight years losing in the first. You’d have to make super drastic changes
We have a great potential second round series between the Leafs and Panthers. In my opinion I think that would be the best series of the whole playoffs, winner should win the cup
It's like groundhogs day at this time of the year with these guys. Lol. The Leafs will lose to Tampa, we don't know how it goes down just that it will go down this way. Leafs fans know this at their core, the streak of a first round exit continues.
It will come down to how can the new Leaf Dfense handle TB's forcheck. If they force the issue Leafs could take control of this series. They may have to go with 7 D to start the series. Just so you can interject some physicality when it's needed, and it will be. The Leafs have the advantage in the bottom 6 forwards but the top 6 are almost even. So TB will try and put pressure on marner in a physical way, marner will have to initiate and not retaliate. If he can do that I will predict Leafs in 6 games. Otherwise it's in 7.

Tampa has had their time very respectively but it honestly can't last forever. Their still and extremely talented team but you can't hold onto your solid depth and core forever. They still have some of their solid dream team but their not the same cup champions they were two years ago. Toronto definitely isn't a cup finalist but I think they can pull through

Were gonna win in 5 games over the Lightning, then we try to win in 6 games against the Bruins, then the Leafs head all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals and we win the Stanley Cup! What i've seen from the leafs d core the last couple of games better be a just play it safe style ; morgan is going to get eaten alive in front of the leafs net , brodie has made some very questionable plays with the puck and holl well lets just say he has TWO left feet , no one is confusing kampf with mathews but c'mon man i still don't see how you missed that pass lol it's all good just a final rant to end the season fresh start boys leafs in 6 GLG

I see no reason to think they make it through the first round and to top it off they have iffy goal tending, play will tighten up and they will quit.
