  1. When I first saw this when I woke up I was super happy almost made me forget about missing the playoffs Almost

  2. Whoever they hire, I hope it's an analytics guy. Not where advanced stats make all the decisions for you. But someone who sees the value in what those tools show you, and not stubbornly doing the opposite.

Likewise, if they hire someone like that–assuming he's still here–Sullivan will have to play by those rules. You can't have Sullivan stubbornly playing Carter & Dumoulin in place of a better, young player, despite every stat (and the eye test) telling you you're not playing your best roster.

  3. Now that Hextall is gone, I have already seen several names floated as GM options, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this list of potential GMs- Jason Botterill, Alex Mandrycky, Laurence Gilman, Kate Madigan, Eric Tulsky, Paul Krepelka, Dan MacKinnon, Ryan Martin, Joe Will, Meghan Duggan, Kyle Dubas, Ryan Bowness, Cammi Granato, and Jamie Langenbrunner

  4. This should’ve happened months ago but so glad it’s happened this is like winning the Stanley cup

  5. Although GM Ron Hextell made some questionable moves, I will give credit where credit is due. When the Pens lost to the Rangers in the 2022 playoffs, he had a difficult mountain to overcome. He was tasked with trying to keep the core intact, as well as trying to bring back solid supporting players. Despite the odds, he brought back Malkin, Letang AND brought back Rust and Rakell on team friendly deals. Although, Hextall had his flaws during his tenure: not keeping Tanev during the expansion draft, trading McCann, trading Marino and Matheson, acquiring Petry, Granlund, pieces that made the team slower.

  6. They needed to fire Sullivan too. Jarry needs to be gone. Hextall was a desperation hire and we should of ended this a long time ago

  7. Shoulda been months earlier….off-season get John Gibson & a competent backup…then work on bottom 6
