Such awful news 💔
Our dear friend @AndyEide has passed away. There are no words to explain what Andy’s presence and work has meant to the great Seattle hockey community. He was a dear friend of mine and his support to bring the NHL to Seattle will never be forgotten. 💔RIP Andy. pic.twitter.com/5C3idRafRP

That is awful news. RIP.
RIP Andy. This playoff run is for you
Terrible news and a devastating loss to family and friends. Andy was a huge part of the grassroots hockey scene before NHL expansion really got going.
Seattle may have gotten a team eventually anyhow, but the level of enthusiasm awaiting the NHL was a direct result of Andy’s passionate reporting in the WHL and beyond. He was instrumental in the growth of hockey in the Pacific Northwest and all of our lives are better as a result of his dedication to the game and our community.
This is just devastating news. There’s no getting around it. But Andy’s legacy will far outlive every single one of us. RIP Andy. ❤️
Will be greatly missed by hockey fans across the PNW.
RIP Andy
No fucking way. The hockey community just lost one of the best. RIP.
Damn. At least he saw a team finally arrive in Seattle. RIP, Andy.
RIP Andy, the hockey world in Seattle won’t be the same without you!
RIP Andy.
I hate this so much. Thank you, Andy ❤️
Andy seemed instrumental in helping hockey grow in the PNW. Terribly sad news to see, I wish his family and loved ones all the best during this hard time
RIP Andy.
I learned so much from you- you expanded my focus on hockey way beyond the NHL. Thank you for your wonderful humor and for sharing your amazing knowledge and expertise on local juniors teams and players, and NHLers’ local roots!
Extremely sad news. Andy’s impact was huge and he’ll be deeply missed by so many people.
I hope the Thunderbirds and Kraken both go out and put on a show in the playoffs this year for him. Seems like it’s what he would have wanted.
I always appreciated when he talked about WHL happenings on the Sound of Hockey podcast. He was my favorite commentator of the crew. He will be missed.
Andy was the best. RIP.
its very touching how many voices of the kraken community are coming out to express their love for andy…. every kraken media outlet i follow and the team themselves
would that we could all leave such a legacy behind
RIP andy
