  1. I think when Bo goes back to Vancouver it will be mix booos and cheers not like when JT came back to Long Island.

  2. Never felt he was a good captain. Great for the community, but it felt like he was forced into the role as there was no one else.
He disappears at times when things aren't going for him, and he never seems to rock the boat much either (either than him calling out Virtanen during practice).
I always believe a captain has to lead by example like Henrik being constantly an offensive threat, or like Linden being a presence on the ice that is respected by both the opposition and the referee.

Bo never seem to have those same qualities. Not his fault, just square hole and round pegs and all.

  3. Everyone loved Bo until he said that he liked playing for a winning team going to the playoffs more than a perennial mushy middle to bottom feeding team that is missing the playoffs… again. He can't solo a team to success, he did everything he could. I think Canucks fans are just salty because they don't like a former player saying that their current team is better than the Canucks.

  4. Obrien was in Vancouver for barely 2 years, during the height of the success of the Canucks. Why would anyone care about his opinion?
Living in Vancity, the way I see it is like comparing Bo to Larkin. Both had to develop on their own, through a tough rebuild and both are being constantly critized about being the captain. The only difference is that the Canucks management F'd up the rebuild by giving outrageous contracts and extended Miller instead of Bo.

  5. I'll make my final decision once the Islanders media turns on him. That will show me if he realizes its not a Canucks thing, its a you suck thing.

  6. You canā€™t blame Bo for the lack of success any more than you can blame Naslund or Luongo. The one playoff run he had he was a beast. Unless youā€™re expecting him to be a centre, captain and defensive defenseman all at the same time, I donā€™t know what people were expecting. It wasnā€™t his fault the D have been awful. But he took the brunt of the criticism. The guy exceeded expectations from his draft year. He was expected to be a 3rd line centre. Thatā€™s the reality. Remember Mark Messier, touted as the greatest leader of all time? Youā€™re only as good as the team around you.

  7. Anyone who puts blame on Bo for the Canucks being terrible is actually completely dumb. Yes he was the captain but a captain can't sign players, trade players. He is the reason anyone still had a bit of reason to play in Vancouver.

  8. Bo will be a footnote eventually. I loved the guy but he wasn't anything special.
