  1. This season seems par with Huberdeau stats. Seems 2018-19 and 2021-22 were flukes. Hate to disappoint you, but facts are facts. Plus lets face it. Calgary really, really sucked this season as a team.

  2. A lot has changed: Team, players, system,… there's no guarantees in life. It's a risk to sign players to big deals and it's a risky business. I always assume moves like this won't work well because there's too many times intangibles, regardless of how "super" athletes are suppose to be. It will be what it will be.

    Flame on! 🔥 😉

  3. I really enjoy your candid analysis of various hockey issues . . . very intelligent and hard-hitting!

  4. Uhh when you mentioned how bad JH’s season was a few days ago I legitimately thought to myself that has got to be one of the biggest drops in production in history lol. I knew he had struggled this year but I had no clue it was that brutal.

  5. Oilers fan and even I want to see Hubie do well in Calgary, hope he can turn it around next season.

  6. He doesn’t have the talent around him to get close to 115 pt. I think he’ll be a regular 75-85 pt/yr player.

  7. Calgary took the best of the Canucks and still managed to get the same result: no playoffs

  8. Playing with good players make a team, personal achievements doesn't mean nothing! Look at kadri among other players. I said from previous years, its team members that make you who you are not individual player!! And it shows!! Stats included..

  9. Only Toffoli, doobie, backs and Eli had good years. Ehhh what are you gonna do? Gotta trust and move on.

  10. He needs to be stronger with puck. Maybe win a board battle occasionally. Shoot for christ sake.

  11. A big part was that sutter played him on the right wing for most of the season, and as soon as he went back to the left side, he was damn near a point per game for his last twenty games. Both him and Wegar started playing a lot better after all the all star break. Lots of positives to focus on. Plus it's not like the flames just got tanked this season. We lost by 3 points of making the playoffs.

  12. So, not making excuses is not what I'm trying to do. I'm not a flames fan. Not looking into advanced statistics, the flames were the top 2 & 3 in shots for and against. They were pretty much on par with the hurricanes. The Bruins were like 5 spots below them in those categories.

JH set a record for assist last season for his position on a high flying not defensively accountable team. It was inevitable for him to regress movie to this defensive structure. Bottom line. He set up players and they scored. If the flames got average goal tending and shooting percentage they probably would have won the west

  13. Flames need a young guy to be like Tachuk I’m not talking about 100 point guy I’m talking about a guy who’s fancy and fun who can get the guys going with a big play or who can play with some flash

  14. Flames where just missing flash they where the most boring team in the nhl this year no fancy plays no big saves and not one play where I look at a guy and I see a star

  15. Flames fans better get used to this version of Huby. He was only good because he was surrounded by star players in FLA. With no talented players in Calgary, his 50-60 points is his norm.

  16. When habs fans were clamoring to bring this guy on as a ufa, I had this feeling he was the kinda player that would have a drop off. Didn't expect it to be so drastic. Glad it was just rumors.

  17. if all his teammates score more points or the other LW-ers outscore him then yes. But if the team doesn't function he won't score anyway. Only thing that you can say is that he isn't the kind of player that can take the team on his back. ok. But of that wasn't the plan in the first place or his role he will get back to normal points once the team gets back to decent quality…

  18. Everybody just panics like it’s a plane crash. Trades and change does this. The Flames will have a different looking next season. I’m sure of that. And Im not even a flames fan
