I hope we see 2020-21 brock next year if he stays
Personally I’m in a weird place on Boeser. I am not entirely opposed to trading him *or* keeping him.

I’d love to see Brock come to camp at the same 195 pounds that he was when he left UND and was when he first arrived here.
Not sure if anyone read the Quinn Hughes interview today where he talked about how he tested the best out of anyone at the Canucks training camp and he attributed that to how hard he worked (with his brothers) in the off season…
…part of that off season approach was not getting sucked into playing 3 on 3 (or 4 on 4) scrimmages in the summer which QH thinks builds bad habits and a false sense of ‘I’m staying in game shape’
Wasn’t his agent negotiating a trade for the team? That doesn’t often happen with guys who want to stay put.
Seems like his father’s passing affected him longer than he’d like to admit. Not saying that’s a sign of weakness whatsoever but I honestly can’t blame him for the abysmal season he had.
I feel for him :(. He wants to win. He wants to perform well but this season just hasn’t been it.
Hope he stays and has a resurgence. I wouldn’t be opposed to trading him for the right assets.
Love Brock, but there’s too much money on the wings and he’s the odd man out. Have to find spots for Podkolzin and Hoglander too.
Can’t keep everyone just because they’re likable. This team needs to give younger guys a shot to provide excess value instead of signing guys to above-market deals and hoping they play up to their contracts.
His effort has increased the past 20 games or so with positive results but he’s still an average player with seemingly low level motivation.

I think it’s worth giving the guy another 1-2 years to see what he’s made of. It’s not like having him on the roster is make it or break it for the team. The shit he’s been through over the past few years has, understandably, detracted from his game. Let’s give him a chance to come out the other side on the team he wants to be on.
I’d keep him. Despite a bad start (in part due to injury, and I’m sure still being in a hard place due to his dad’s passing) he had a decent year. For a good chunk of the year he was not getting PP1 time, and was playing on the 3rd line, so I’m impressed by his production.
That coupled with the fact that he is a genuinely amazing person and very well liked by his teammates, there are other wingers I’d rather see go over him.
Brock has committed to only drinking light brewskies this summer and to hit the gym as soon as wake surfing season is over

Worst season of his career after his dad died and he still managed 55 points with not much pp1 time. I’m willing to take the chance on Brock to have a good off season.
Brock has 70 point 30 goal potential, and with the loss of horvats production he’s who you hope can fill that gap.

I feel like I read this exact same boeser headline/quote every off season. Dudes needs a change of scenery, he’s what we thought he was and that’s fine. But he’s taking up cap space and he’s really not be effective with it.

I feel like we have some serious FOMO here, a lot of people opposed to trading him seem to think as soon as we do he’s going to become what we envisioned. I’m willing to bet though that Brock has stagnated to the point that the player we see now is what we have.
It’s a shame but he’s set a bar he can’t reach to some of the fans. I want him to succeed and score 30 but I just don’t see it.
Fairly obvious he needs a good offseason of training and coming to camp in the best shape of his career. I agree that he needs to lose a bit of weight to get faster. And please skip Da Beauty League. It’s half speed exhibition hockey and not helping him get into game shape.
I still believe in Brock. But I also agree with the others here that he needs to step it up and take initiative to get better and work on his shortcomings as a player. Not sure how much work he puts into himself off-season (Da Beauty League does not count) but Petey and Quinn both have alluded to practicing hard off-season and clearly paid off this season.
Such a good dude; It sucks, but Brock would probably benefit from a change of scenery.
He seemed out of position more noticeably this year, and the game is only getting faster. Hopefully he continues to work on his skating and 200 foot game, but a back injury is never easy to recover from.

Brock stays. This poor bastard had a helluva year personally and still put up decent numbers on a struggling team. He’s really stepped up since Horvat’s departure. The future is bright for this kid.
He should not be traded. In fewer games, and during what he admitted was a bad season, he still outperformed Garland. If we keep Garland over Boeser, I will be beyond baffled. And no, Garland’s ‘dog’ isn’t that valuable, if it was, then he wouldn’t have struggled so much this year.
If the return is right, I say trade him. He’s not worth his salary. He’s 5 million AAV, tops

My take on Boeser is that while he’s got one of the highest cap hit of the underperforming guys on the block right now; He’s also got an extremely high upside.
He has size, he has transitioned his game from a goal scorer to strong wall guy with improved defensive presence into a playmaker. All without any footspeed. If he can put those elements together eventually you have a legit top line winger.
It’s a catch 22 because he may never round into that form and he is already being paid to be that type of player. But I would also suck to see him traded somewhere else and put it together if we aren’t getting a strong return on the trade.
He better put in work in the off-season. Come to camp in tip top shape and buy the fuck in.
I like Brock a lot, I want him to succeed. He seems like a great person, a good fit in the room. It is almost like we haven’t found a way to use him effectively. I think he has played better since Tocchet took over, lets hope next year is a better one for him. He’s 6′ 1″, over 200lbs, I’d love to see him more aggressive and use his size to his advantage. I’d also love to see him shoot more.
Rather see comments on how hard he’s going to work this summer to prove it. But I’d rather still see him on a new team. Always give him the benefit of the doubt because of the injuries, the stuff he’s had to deal with but I think every year I’m just disappointed expecting more from him. His shot won’t be back like it was in his rookie year because of his wrist. Won’t be given the same space he had in his rookie year, skating hasn’t improved at all. Defense has improved but he doesn’t drive play at all and is more of a passenger. Trading him and clearing up 6.5m in cap is better (assuming we dump to clear cap).
I don’t want Brock traded either. I don’t want to pretend like I know the guy, but I feel like things are moving forward for him in a positive way. When I lost my Dad, it took me a very long time to go through the grieving process. With that, and his recovery from injuries considered, he’s had an amazing season in my opinion. He’s also played the most amount of games this year. He deserves a good offseason and a real fresh start next year.
