If the current core in Toronto can't get out of the first round this season then they never will. Tampa Bay has never been more vulnerable than they are now. Toronto has everything it needs to get past Tampa Bay this year and if they don't then I expect some major changes.

I think Toronto can do it this year honestly. However, if Tampa wins I bet it will be in some sneaky, slightly annoying, small way. Toronto has everything they need, and Tampa seems to have faltered this year; but then again no one knows what could happen in the playoffs. My guess is that the series goes to 7 games, as they're both great teams so long as they don't lose their confidence especially in net. Should be a fun one either way.

If Toronto lose again, im a go mental as hell. I've watched the leafs since the 2016-2017 season when i was 5, I've been so invested with them for so long, I've watched every single game this season and I just really hope they dont sell this year.
Cant wait for the leaf to lose in first round AGAIN, never get bored to laugh at them. Kinda wish McDavid the cup the same as I was rooting for Ovie a few years back.
I was 16 years old when the Leafs won in 1967. I remember being sooooo happy. Now decades later I am dealing with a rare health condition with no known cause and no cure. Best case, I have another 12 months. I will be devastated if they can't get by the first round. Just beating Tampa would make me nearly as happy as back in the day.
From your assessment – it looks like Tampa has already defeated the Leaf players mentally – as this Leaf core has not changed & really can’t be expected to produce different playoff outcomes. Do hope Leafs play Boston this spring.
It doesn't matter where the other team is or what they are doing. The Leafs are their own worst problem. They wither and die when they have a chance to clinch a series every time. Over and over again it's the same thing. I'm a Leafs fan and I fully expect another first round exit. The core guys just aren't clutch when it gets down to the nitty gritty
Bro forgot about the refs. One bad call changes the whole series, and its usally the leafs who get the bad calls in the playoffs, but this year it seems like every team has gotten a few terrible calls

For another time the Bolts are called by the NHL to perform the league's most sacred duty and tradition. We need them to be at the same spot next year, one round away from fulfilling the prophesy.
From all of those that came before, victory is even more bliss when extended to a 7th game (with leaguewide choking specialists on the other side, it's really not that hard).

For me the biggest difference between last season and this season is absence of McDonagh. Seems that everyone forgets, how big a difference factor he is in playoffs.
