I'm not sold in Montembeault but he is better then Allen. Habs need a starting goalie, another top center. I don't think they need Bedard, I think fantilli well be a great fit. They have a lot of contractd to get rid of.
In the 2021-2022 season, the Habs won 22 games. In the 2022-2023 season, they won 31 games. And, that is with all the injuries. 9 more wins than last season. If they follow the same progress, they will get 10 more wins next season. With the overtime losses, they will get at least 90 points next season. That is a playoff spot. I'm very confident for next season.
No I think they will be better but no playoff till they get there young defense to start making big leaps. They will need a full season with not to many injuries to play together the following year will be the year.
With a little bit of luck next season along with all their young and older veterans, they might play close to 500. However, they have way too many teams to leap over for a "wild card spot", Ottawa, Buffalo and Detroit might be contenters for playoff spots.
With Marty and Kent, Montreal seems like it would be a lot more attractive to players on other teams to potentially come here. What do you guys think?
Also, I grew up with the Flying Frenchmen in the 70s. Do you guys think we should be trying to bring in quality francophones, of course besides Dubois?
I think the Habs will be better next year if they can stay away from the injury bug. We hoped everyone would improve this year but how many players were in and out of the lineup with prolonged or season ending injuries which curtailed their development. I think Marty St. Louis did the best he could with the players he had to work with any given night. And with whatever credentials they arrive with anyone they draft this year they will still be a raw NHL rookie. And as long as we are talking injuries with the Canadiens leading the league in man-games lost the last two seasons, are the Habs under a satanic curse targeting our players. Remember Salem Massachusetts is in suburban Boston.
Even if we draft Bedard, we will not be a playoff team by next season. We are still young, and we actually overachieved a bit this season. Stole a lot of games early in the season we had no right to win (Monty or Allen standing on their heads etc). Hopefully the young guys can keep growing in the right direction, and we can get a couple more gems in this summers draft, but i think we are at least 2 more seasons before being a playoff contender. Not getting a top 3 pick this summer will be a big loss for the Habs, and possibly be the difference between being an Elite team in 3-4yrs, and being an ok team (along with a few other factors).

Who is better, a healthy Sean Monahan, or Pierre-Luc Dubois ?
Why obsess with Pierre-Luc Dubois? Why not draft new blood like Owen Beck?
I think a good draft pick, and a possible young free agent signee and traded player, and we're healthy, a wild card spot, might be possible

No a chance with the current habs goalies
Get rid of the kid with the beard. He adds nothing to this show.
Monty is good, but not great. With the 2 goalies we have, the d needs to be way better. The injuries also need to be addressed.
Get rid of Alex Burrows
I still don’t understand why the Habs didn’t go after Samsonov seeing as how the Leafs got him for nothing
Answer: No.

Not with these swiss cheese goalies!
If we draft Bedard, trade for PLD and all our rookie develop well we are a playoff team 100% we would have 5-6 guys with 50+ pts seasons.
Bedard
PLD
Suzuki
Caufield
Dach
Juraj (maybe)
Too many good teams in the Atlantic not only next year but in the next few years.

Montreal have a lot of good talents but no "elite" players. They really need to wind the lottery…for Bedard or Fantilli.
100% no, they will be better, but still not a playoff team
Another great show guys.
