I mean he does look good but I sincerely doubt he’d ever suggest he’s banged up heading into a series. That’s a losers attitude (no offence). But realistically that talk comes out when they lost a series – oh I was playing on fumes etc. I’m talking loser in the literal sense of he who lost. For example, Crosby is saying everyone is sore and beat up as they failed to make the playoffs.
At this point I’m more concerned about Samsanov than Matthews anyway. Let’s hope the week was all he needed.
You can see that he is holding onto the puck more and distributing better than most of the season.
