The 2022/2023 Detroit Red Wings season has come to a close, and it’s time to take a look back in the first part of our annual Red Wings Season in Review series.
We open by discussing Detroit’s final standings in the Connor Bedard NHL Draft Lottery standings, their odds at landing Bedard, Fantilli (or Michkov or Carlsson) (5:45).
Next, the first part of our Detroit Red Wings Season in Review series, where we discuss: overall thoughts on the season in Hockeytown & whether it’s right to be a bit disappointed (as Steve Yzerman may be) (11:25); high points & low points (20:00); MVP candidates like Dylan Larkin, Ville Husso, Jake Walman, & Moritz Seider (29:10); most improved players like Michael Rasmussen & Jonatan Berggren (34:25); discussions on how Alex Nedeljkovic, Andrew Copp, Ben Chiarot’s seasons have gone (41:00); and more general thoughts on Derek Lalonde, Lucas Raymond, Simon Edvinsson, Marco Kasper, & lots more.
Next, a quick update on Amadeus Lombardi & his Grand Rapids Griffins debut (58:40) before discussing Shawn Horcoff choosing to let go of Ben Simon & Co. as the AHL squad will get a new coaching (potentially from Sebastian Cossa’s Toledo Walleye) (59:45).
Finally, some NHL news as Pittsburgh joins a few other teams in making sweeping coaching/management changes (1:02:50) before we make our 2023 NHL Playoffs 1st round predictions (1:06:05).
All of that & LOTS more before we take your questions during Overtime (1:18:15) – enjoy!

Ryan does this to himself because he, like many of us, are lions fans lmao
You guys are awesome keep up the great work!
Thoughts on GR letting go of there coaching staff?
YO that dboss bobble head is legit
I disagree with the claim Husso is deserving of MVP and a starter. If he starts off cold next season, he'll be in Grand rapids and traded soon like Ned is being smeared now. Even though Ned was the best player the last couple weeks of the season.
I was pumped for the Debrincat news, and hope Stevie is calling Pierre regularly until the draft.
The isles pick, a 2024 2nd and a sweetener gets it done. I'm thinking the sweetener would be a roster player ( zadina??? )
Obviously the price would vary depending on if we get to negotiate a long term deal, or we're just getting his 1 year qualifier.
For reference Ottawa paid a 1st, 2nd and 3rd to originally aquire him.
Yes it was a better 1st than the isles pick is, but my offer is in the ball park.
I know I'd be ok spending those assets to aquire Cat, even knowing its probably gonna cost a little more than I'm suggesting
