  1. Agree with the commentator on this. They need to stop letting people go into the numbers league wide.

  2. Yes not a great hit, but also guys have really stopped protecting themselves around the boards. Whether it’s to draw penalties I don’t know but there’s definitely been a change

  3. Oilers fan here – that was was the correct call. No way that's 5 minutes.
It's (still) a contact sport – protect yourself going into the boards at all times.

  4. He did protect himself. he angled his feet properly and was turned sideways. The shark ( who are a very pathetic losing team) simply went a little hard to compensate for being on such a horrible team. ( sharks are my home market btw). Go oilers!

  5. 2 minutes seems pretty fair, the hit clearly wasn't malicious but it was square in the numbers and it wasn't like the Oilers player turned his back at the last second so while it's one of the few times I've said this so far this entire season, I think they actually got this one right.

  6. They gotta stop the hitting straight into the numbers, it’s one thing if someone turns at the last second but when someone is staring at the numbers the entire way they need to do something else besides full pile drive the player in front of them into the boards.
