  1. I met Joe at a gas station in a suburb just outside of Dallas 2 years ago. I recognized him right off the bat and he knew it. That man stopped and talked to me for 5 minutes and is truly a world-class person. Forever a fan of Joe Pavs.

  2. Being the top US playoff goal scorer should give him some consideration for the HoF. I'd like to see him win a cup, too. I think that would push it over the edge

  3. i wouldnt say his two most recent seasons are nearly as impressive as some of his earlier seasons. are they technically more points than in 2014 and 2016? yes. but he was top ten in those past years and no where near top ten in these past two years. They are good seasons considering his age. but scoring has risen much higher since the mid 2010s, and he was more of a dominant player back then

  4. Love Joe Pavelski in Dallas! I really do think he can set himself as being like another Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau and play effectively into his mid-40s. It's a shame he hasn't gotten that much awards consideration and I feel the Hockey Hall voters would hold that against him, but he's a Hall of Famer in my heart.

  5. I like him on the Stars, especially on a line with two guys passed over in the first round and a fifth-round captain. Feels narratively correct.

Almost as good as how his 1000th point was not only a classic insane ping-pong tip, but developed from a play made by his childhood friend. You can't write that stuff.

  6. he's not a good skater and is weak on the puck but is so unbelievably crafty. inspiring, really. i had a lot of fun watching him in san jose throughout the years. i couldn't believe they stiffed him and let him walk when it was time to pay up after he took team friendly contracts his whole career. i'm glad he's doing well in dallas

  7. There is a podcast on youtube where the guy that scouted Pavelski for the Sharks (Pat Funk) talks about what he saw in Pavelski and why he wanted to draft him higher than the Sharks did. I believe Sharks people were saying that Funk wanted to draft him in the fourth round. It is worth a listen if you're interested. I personally love the players that were drafted late or had to spend extra time in the minors, that don't give up and end up beating the odds. Pavelski is one of my favorites.

  8. I don't get it. Both Patrick Kane and Mike Modano are both US born players who have more goals than he does.

  9. You could do a video on guys like Pavelski, that put up career highs at an older age than normal

  10. Giroux & Pavelski are the 96th & 97th 1000+ point players. Kessel is 8 away and Tavares is 25. 98th & 99th…
    Wheeler-922
    Perry-883
    Toews-882
    Parise-879
    Marchand-861
    McDavid-849 !!!
All of them will take multiple seasons to reach 1000 if they do at all.
McDavid should be the 100th, 1000+ point player. Crazy awesome.

  11. Pavs is my favorite American hockey player ever. Just an extremely likeable guy who scores goals my favorite way, with all those beautiful deflections.

  12. Thanks for the video! My favorite player and so under rated/under appreciated! His #8 will be in the rafters in San Jose someday!

  13. Love Pavelski. I got his jersey at the Sharks store during the 07-08 season when he was still "Little Joe".

  14. He may be the #1 goal scorer by a US born player in the playoffs however his own teammate may break that record at the rate he scores goals.

  15. Do the Sharks miss him? Yeah, a determined, mentally tough guy. Some of those deflections are extremely high skill plays, the G-A ratio show his smarts. I'll bet Robertson likes him, the vet that accelerates the rookies' growth, an on ice coach.
