  1. Regular-season success means only so much. Whether the Pens, or another non-Leaf NHL team, will hire Dubas should he leave the Leafs due to his quitting or being fired is TBD although should the Leafs fail to win their upcoming 1st-round series, pressure will only escalate on the Board of Leafs' ownership group MLSE to fire him & President Shanahan.

  2. Surprised there was no mention of Toews turning a blind eye to the Kyle Beach situation during that segment. The media shouldnā€™t let that be forgotten as part of his ā€œlegacyā€

  3. I don't think that the leafs firing dubas if they fail to once again get out of the 1st round is in any way emotional. That would be his 5th straight year with sole control of the team and 7th year overall as GM/AGM losing in the 1st round. That seems pretty clear that he does not know how to build a team capable of winning in the playoffs. I don't understand how 5 straight years of failure is emotional

  4. FYI, Dubas is already signed. They learned from Lou and they already did it with Keefe a couple years back.

  5. I don't see dubas leaving Toronto for Pittsburgh as that's difficult situation to fix with legacy players at the twilight of their careers. Another team on the cusp? Maybe he does.

  6. I could see Dubas in Ottawa if new ownership cleans house and brings in new people.

  7. I would be so upset if it happened, but I think keefe would be the perfect coach for the flames

  8. Yo i typed in The CJ Show and went to a different podcast lmao they were talking about Weight-lose and aliens lol

  9. This is a fantastic way to get clicks, it really truly is. But understand the more this happens the less trust you have with your fans and the less they will click.

Think of the boy who cried wolf.

  10. George Plimpton would be on the Mount Rushmore of sports reporters. A strong recommendation is to watch, When We Were KIngs, a documentary on the Rumble in the Jungle. One of the best sports documentaries, the story of the doc being mostly filmed in 1974, and no one would pick it to produce until 1996(and won an Academy Award, for best documentary). A must watch.

  11. Is it remotely possibly Toews doesn't actually have "long covid", but that his symptoms may be related to the multiple unnecessary medical procedures that he took to prevent said virus?

  12. Producer Drew is right. Pens made the NHL playoffs that year and failed to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And the Devil's – Capitals game had some playoff implications. Had the Canes lost, the Devils would've passed them in the standings for top spot in the Metro.

  13. Get Dubas the hell out of Toronto now immediately forever.
He has caused irreparable damage with a huge ripple effect.
The writing is on the wall.
When Dubas leaves, it will be obvious.
    Mathews will not sign
    Marner to Nashville
Nylander to Penguins w/ his brother Alex!
Shanny Keffie follow Dubas out the door now immediately forever
… the sabotage is over! … the rebuild all over again.
    Good bye
    Good riddance
… glory days are here again for Toronto!

  14. Please make it easier to skip the ā€œYou Can Bet Thatā€ as segment, I donā€™t need tips on how to waste my money, I do fine with that on my own

  15. Hopefully he gets healthy and can sign 1 more deal sucks that he's missed all this time with long covid

  16. I'll bet if the leafs don't resign Dubas they'll end up regretting it. Very much a case of not knowing how good they have it until it's gone. If he goes to pit I'd put a a whole 2 dollars on them winning the cup….that's the kind of cursed luck the leafs have šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

  17. I think Toronto is already crazy, not extending Dubas. But one thing to consider: the Toronto sports media, and a lot of vocal fans, think everything runs through the Leafs. Every big free agent, every hot shot executive, every good player on the trade block–there's always that bloc of people that insist they're all going to the Leafs.

"Would [insert name] want to go to the Leafs?"
"Of course! Everyone wants to go to the Leafs!"

Now, whether that has any bearing on Dubas re-signing in Toronto, I doubt it. But FSG would be crazy to not at least have him on their list, since there's a non-zero chance he might be available.

  18. lol O for 2 two no way the tampa series goes 7 easy money on 6 if you are up for it go 5 , dubas to pittsburgh is a joke no way that happens either no GM can fix that team in under two years by then sid and mel will be done and in 26 bettman WILL close the door on the cap shenanigans so dubas better hope the leafs win at least 1 round or he may be out of work PERMANENTLY

  19. If the leafs fail to make it out of the first round, Iā€™d have to imagine Dubas is good as gone. The leafs canā€™t keep someone if they canā€™t get out of the first round for seven years in a row. He might want to stay, but I canā€™t envision him remaining as GM with another first-round exit.

  20. After going through all these atrocious GMā€™s , Ferguson , Nonis, Burke, Iā€™d be pissed of dubas left after the job heā€™s done.
