Mike Tyson’s jab technique’s will teach any short guy how to jab the tall guy’s. Tyson was short for a heavyweight so he often fought against opponents that were much taller than him.

In this video I breakdown 3 types of jabs that Mike Tyson would use to out box taller opponents. For most short guys it’s hard to get on the inside when boxing a taller opponent but Tyson had specific techniques that he used to overcome that problem.

The first technique was the slip jab. The second technique is the low jab feint to set up a looping overhand right. And the last technique is a short jab. Tyson would use a whole range of jabs so that his opponents would never know what was coming. This made them defensive and hesitant which is perfect for a shorter guy because this creates openings for the shorter guy to get on the inside a lot easier.

All of these techniques were created by Cus D’amato and specific to his peek-a-boo style. If you are interested in learning more about this style, I will be doing more technique breakdowns every week so hit that subscribe button and don’t miss out

  1. Usually you need 2 jabs to get inside but because people move back instead of going toe to toe you have no choice but to throw more jabs. As you step inside jab jab and then you can do your more powerful moves. Since I spar in no ring people run away more I canā€™t corner them like in the ring. So I end up throwing more jabs than 2

  2. Tysonā€™s movement is just mesmerizing. Freakish power and speed. I never get tired of watching him train or fight. Absolutely terrifying. Even at his current age, old Tyson can f*ck you up.

Kretanje, eskivaze? PA to je Boks Poezija bokserska Rapsodija

  4. too bad the split with Rooney was the beginning of Tyson downfall. fighting style changed, no more peekaboo, no more slippery Tyson, moves slower that made him vulnerable and actually became one shot headhunter

  5. It was one of the greatest until he came up against the boxer a real shoe box over there really hard stiff that could move

  6. All true but all this technique, power and stamina wouldn't have been effective without Tyson's incredible speed.

  7. Natural BEAST MODE šŸ˜³šŸ¤£šŸŗāœŒļøšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

  8. Tyson is not only one the greatest of all time, he is definitely the greatest of all time

  9. Great insights, he truly is one of the greatest ever. I'd say as pure entertainment value he right up there with Ali and for his size it was incredible to watch him knock down his always much taller opponents who definitely always had a longer reach. So the only way to counter at his success rate is he had to have some serious skills. Cus ,teddy and rooney did a great job. Thanks for sharing your great video.

  10. Mike tyson, the best boxer ever whose skills where completely unnoticed.
because his style was so effective it seemed like it was easy and his opponents where just 'bums'

Imagine that, your so good that people cant see how good you are…

Im happy that some of us ( mostly people who have practiced this style ) see the little things that makes it the best style ever created.

For the rest of the world, to bad they dont see it.

  11. My bro got in a fight a threw 2 short jabs to draw out a punch and his opponent threw 2 hooks and missed. My bro stepped in with a right and connected. The guy fell to his knees and grabbed my bros legs and took him down. He got on top but my bro did a juijitsu sweep and mounted him and the guy gave up. He was forced to quit because he was too scared to get a ground and pound beat down. He won. Drawing out punches and countering works

  12. We see these skills in slow mode .. imagine what these fighters go through to be able to master and maybe switch their plans in a matter of seconds inside the ring

  13. Fact: after iron mike won the #WBC BELT at 1986 he has the urge of quitting boxing but kevin don't wanna go that early.they still force iron mike to continue.
At late 87 i see that he became a head hunter til the last of his career
At 1989 frank bruno staggered iron mike his headmovement is fading. Until he beaten by buster at 1990 so sad he didn't really used his full potential of his prime.

  14. 1. Slip jab to the right, and left.
    2. Slip jab to the body and overhand to the head.
    3. Short paw jab, and uppercut, or overhand, or feint in and shoot.

  15. PEEK-A-BOO is my favorite shadow boxing training… FALLING STEP- SLIP THE RIGHT JAB- LEFT HOOK SNAP BACK THE SHOULDER DOUBLE LEFT HOOK…training to combine with YI QUAN …good film LB thank you
