  1. As a Boston fan, I totally agree with the THG. STOP the stupid WWTC chants! Bruins were totally outplayed for 2/3 of this game.

  2. Bruins season on full display last night. Let the other team punch themselves to exhaustion in periods one and two while taking the lead and then shut the door in the third. Panthers had nothing left in period three after playing a great game in periods one and two, but still being down on the scoreboard.

  3. I like your analysis in general but don’t like how you’re reading off every single play by play. We could just download that and read it ourselves. Your color commentary is what’s really good. Just a constructive comment. Keep up the good work and go Bruins!

  4. The only fluke/lucky break was the goal that Florida scored. The commentators on ESPN call Marchand's goal (a straight nasty shot through the glove of Lyon) a lucky break , but then Orlov literally passes the puck to Tkachuk in perfect position in front of the net for a layup goal and there's no mention of luck, or fluke involved whatsoever. It really doesn't come off like any of these folks (Shannon included) are being "cautious with hopes" or anything like that. It sounds like there's some significant bias against the Bruins. Every good they do is "luck" or "fortunate" or a "steal", etc. and they're talking about Florida like they're ordained to win the cup.

I understand wanting to be cautious, but lets give these guys some credit where it's due. They played hard. The Panthers couldn't keep up so they resorted to violence ("physical" as some like to sugar coat it) as per the usual in these types of imbalanced playoff matchups. The penalty calling went out the window.

  5. This game bodes well for Bruins and series. I give props to Florida for being a half step faster to the puck in the 1st and second. Not common against the B's this year. Bruins still win more than their share of possession battles. Coyle plays like there is glue on his blade; makes up for lack of foot speed. Goaltending was excellent as expected. Bruins showed in the 3rd they can outlast the Panthers, and that speed/aggressiveness advantage that Florida seemed to have earlier was gone. Bruins just never seem to take their foot off the gas, and it wears teams out. Expect this to be in the series as well as individual games.

  6. For me the Bruins played the right way this game. The Panthers really didn't have much in the way of quality shots despite the number advantage in the first. Boston on the other hand were robbed numerous times by Lyon, even with that soft second goal. If the Panthers want to get anywhere in this series they really have to tighten up those grade A chances against and stop falling for the easy play, no easy task it would seem against this Bruins team. I love Lyons game though, even with that soft goal he was the player of the game for me.

  7. Your comments on the crowd chanting we want cup is a little off. Yeah it can totally change momentum but to act like the bruins are chanting it too early? Multiple teams had crowds chanting that exact phrase before the playoffs even began. So how is it too soon to chant it during game 1?

  8. The NHL really needs to address the so called “goalie interference” penalties. There is a HUGE difference between a player intentionally hitting the goalie versus a guy trying to make a play on a puck that was popped up in the air and accidentally bumping the goalies glove which causes the puck to come out because he didn’t have it closed….

  9. My favorite part of the game was when Bertuzzi grabbed a Florida players stick and took it to the bench. I was watching Captain Paul’s watch party, and he shared that clip with us and I said “even though Marchand and Bertuzzi used to hate each other when they were on different teams, they’ve clearly put their differences aside and Marchand has taught Bertuzzi his trolling tactics”

  10. Argues that hits are bad after the more physical team won all for games.

  11. You may not be impressed with Boston, but I feel like they were playing smart. They were playing pretty docile to avoid a heated game. Look what happened to Dallas. Even if the Stars make it out of this round, they will be banged up to hell and too injured to carry on very far in the playoffs.

  12. Boston fans are underestimating how tough of a time they're going to have in the playoffs. Not to say any team won't have a tough time.
I just hope these "we want the cup" chants bite them in the ass, and preferably at home

  13. We want the cup chants drive me crazy. Everybody wants the cup. You dont have to say it. Lets just enjoy the process without antagonizing the rest of the league

  14. If you think about the 2 on 1 opportunity's this game could have been 5-1. I applaud panthers for this game they outplayed Boston and still lost . Will see game 2 , but this series is far from over.

  15. I think it’s seriously just a matter of the panthers solving Ullmark and getting in front. The panthers whole game plan is based around Defensemen shooting the puck. Florida could still have something special here if they can manage to wear down the defense and allow them to get better footing in front of the crease. Physicality would be huge if the panthers start laying more hits in the offensive zone. Also, Radko Gudas should sit or be given less responsibility, I felt like he allowed for a lot of dangerous chances by trying to step up while the Bs were entering the zone.

  16. Frédéric had 3 chances 2 of which he should have scored . Both Florida pp were make up calls . Sure the Panthers had a ton of shots but over 20 were from the point and had no rebound . Boston smothered them in the 3rd. And Boston fans chanted Yankees suck at a Ducks game back in January ! That's who we are . We say what we feel and to bad if you don't like it cause we do care.

  17. No surprise with "refs u suck" chants at every game!! The refs have been horrible all season!! They called McAvoy for cross checking and it wasn't really a cross check!? Refs need to go back to school on what is and isn't a penalty cuz some of the crap they call is just unbelievable!?

  18. I really hope Bruins sign Bertuzzi for next season and hopefully the next few seasons!! It took him a Lil bit to get the chemistry with guys but he's been great recently and seems to just keep getting more and more comfortable and he's made some sick passes that have led to goals…like his sick no look backhand pass to Pasta for 1st goal last night!!? Bertuzzi has been great with Pasta and Zacha but he's done good when paired with other guys too!!? Having him and Marchand out there terrorizing the other team is great!!? They r good at getting under guys skin and then assisting on or potting a goal themselves!

  19. The Bruins put on a defensive clinic in the third period. They grinded Florida down! Too much depth and much better goal tending! They stole nothing!

  20. I think the most impressive thing about this bruins team is how methodically they close games out.

Like, it seemed like after the disallowed goal they just said "3-1 is enough. This game is over." and just strangled the life out of the Panthers from then on

  21. Refs did all they could to help FLA with the no calls. Then they issue phantom penalties on BOS that resulted in 2 PPs with zero shots each. 'Nuff said.

  22. Shannon an L for not mentioning the stomach bug and missing their captain for the Bruins. I was impressed they they were still able to grab a W with the adversity.

  23. Was at this game, the building was rocking. I felt like this was Panthers best night to "steal a game". I HATE those "we want the cup" chants. It is one game, wait until making it to the finals.

  24. I felt this game, the B's were showing the mixed new lines. Returning players from IR, and missing Bergy, meant a lot of new line mates and it showed.

  25. Good for the Bs to win when they didn’t have their A game. They need adjust to increased physicality of the playoffs. I’m not sure if it was just me, but the ice quality did not seem good yesterday — lots of bouncing pucks and odd hops. It seemed to affect the fluidity of the offenses.

  26. Is that really the Florida logo ?
A hockey stick over a beating sun and palm tree 🤣🤣🤣
    It’s ice hockey, right ? 🤪🤪🤪
