Good game for sure, but Leafs looked very comfortable at times in the offensive zone. Hope the injuries aren’t too severe but this series is very far from over. A lot of work still to be done.

Imagine being a team that is very talented but has struggled to find playoff success.
Imagine that team lost in the 2022 playoffs in a game in which their goaltending couldn’t match the opposing teams, causing a mismatch which was the deciding factor in said game 7.
Now imagine knowing this situation, and seeking out Ilya Samsonov, a know playoff underachiever, to play goalie for you the next season in the exact same matchup.
…and after all this, not only in that teams fan base surprised by the result, but is still hitching its wagon the the management team that executed the above sequence of events.

This game didn’t feel like game 1 of ’21 playoffs or game 1 of ’22 playoffs.
This game felt like game 1 of the 2020 playoffs in the bubble.
It felt like 5 overtimes where the win meant we were shaking of the demons of the season before.
This game feels different.
Game one. Very happy but quietly confident. I just hope the Leafs don’t come out in game 2 all guns blazing, and the crowd start getting into it.
Also, the fan walkout, and silence, would never happen in Amalie. We are blessed with truly great supporters.
