You could hear the disdain in the refs voice when he said the challenge was over and the the goal was good. Almost a ‘you dare challenge ME?’ tone. Also, Perry made the call on the slash, and on the goal. He may as well have been wearing the armband ffs.

Keefe’s already had run ins with him last season and this season he was fined $20k for speaking out about him this year. I don’t care if Wes officiates in the playoffs but how could it logically be fair to have him ref any of the leafs games.

Two things can be true. The refereeing can be absolutely abysmal (except the Bunting match penalty, which was correct) and the Leafs can lose because of the Leafs, not the refs.
I can’t deal with this sub again this year, so I’m not reading comments. I can’t do it to myself. I just wanted to say this. The Leafs did not lose the game because of the refs, we all know that. But yes, there were some pathetic calls.
The series isn’t over until a team wins 4 games. This is the perfect opportunity for something special. You know why? Because we’ve had bad playoff games, we’ve had bad starts to series, and bad finishes to series. I’ve watched every single playoff game over the last 6 years, and my honest opinion is that this was the worst we’ve ever looked. Even worse than all those lifeless game 7’s (excluding last year’s where even though we lost, we finally played like we deserved to win.) So now, choose to have that amateurish performance be a blessing in disguise. Choose to let it be an early wakeup call. This is the best possible time in a playoff series to get one if you need one. The players need to be furious. They need to be disgusted. They need to realize just how gut-wrenching a series full of these performances would feel. And that’s when you turn shit around. That’s when you make game 1 your worst game of the series by far. They control that. They change. They wake up. They fucking perform.
