This quote is getting absolutely shredded in r/hockey

  2. thismadhatter

Tavares isnt the one to comment on the refs. Thats a coach thing.

  3. T_Hawk78

We need someone to call out the refs the same way Van Vleet did still

  4. Devonw90

Not what you want to hear from your captain. Let Keefe call out the refs if he feels it is necessary. JT needs to focus on what’s within his team’s control on the ice. This just sounds like sour grapes after the team dropped the ball big time.

  5. The calls early in the game ruined the game. That cross check on Schenn was a joke. That gave them the game and then we shot ourselves in the foot.

apparently r/hockey thinks the bunting hit was only borderline? sweet, no suspension incoming i guess.

    Quit your bitching John.

What did you do out there?

No fucking excuses, win 4 games. Start fresh, your chance is now. 4 of 6.

You know, I like this. Reminds me of what Cooper was doing last year, taking the heat off the team’s performance and focusing it elsewhere.

Woe is me ahahha man these guys dont help their cause sometimes and really I’m not sure that they even care THAT much

Don’t give a flying fuck what r/hockey says. If this was edm getting this treatment they would have had an aneurism.

I don’t watch Leaf games anymore. It’s too painful and it always ends the same way. But imho, there’s no way on God’s green earth that McCauley should be anywhere near this series.

  12. Kadri 2.0- Bunting needs to sit rest of the series guy is nothing but a penalty magnet and tonight was absolutely ridiculous

  13. Aidsinuranus

You know shits about to go down when JT has an emotion.

  14. souza-23

JT just sounds like a sore loser. This weak mentality is holding the team back. Remember when Spezza, not Tavares, was the one who made the motivational speech last season? If we can’t make it past round one, strip JT of the captaincy.

Wes Macaulay shouldn’t be an NHL ref with the bias that they have shown against the leafs plus the history that he has with Keefe. The NHL should be ashamed.

It’s the Kampf call after McCabe’s hit that is the one that changed the momentum of the game after we got it to 2-1.

Weak call that was the result of Nick Paul holding up McCabe and trying to fight him. He was kept out of the play and led to an odd man rush.

Of course r/hockey will say we are defending Bunting….

Bunting may not have seen Cernak coming up but he HAS to be more responsible with his body. He deserved the major and is going to get a 1-2 game suspension. Knies comes in for him and probably doesn’t come back out. Tough luck Bunts.

There are only two types of hockey fans

    Leafs fans

    Leafs haters

  18. whipit-1

Hey man, he’s frustrated. And he should be. I like it, Leafs are gonna win this series

  19. wingmage1

Whether Tavares is right or not, I think this was the right thing to say to improve the Leafs odds. Refs care more about the appearance of fairness than actually being fair.
