  1. Assuming the 4th line is DOC-Poehling- Carter? Who do you believe the penguins should look to trade for or sign, for our 3rd line center role?
Also, is there a way under mike sullivan that carter becomes the 5th line center aka 13th forward.

  2. Don't worry about jarry because he's not good for us and there are 86 on the market I have em all on from capfriendly

  3. Who are you looking to replace Dumoulin on Tanger's left side for the coming season? Does he need to be a young up and coming player, or are you ok with an older veteran who can still do the job?

  4. Hiring Bowman would be a monumental mistake. Even putting the off-the-ice issues aside (which no one should do), his successful days as a GM were a long time ago. The NHL has already changed a lot since the Hawks were in their prime with Kane, Toews, and Seabrook. I just don't see how he makes any sense.

My top two names are Dubas (should he be available) and Tulsky. But whoever they ultimately hire, I hope it's the kind of GM who'd look at Dumoulin, Carter, and Granlund's advanced stats and think, "I don't want these guys on our team."

  5. Dubas "maintaining the core" is a noob take honestly. In order to keep Nylander and Marner he chucked Kadri and Hyman, the 2 most indispensable playoff players the Leafs have had since their last playoff run in 04'. Despite good fortune Dubas has never built a team capable of surviving the first round, let alone win a cup. In any case, the core is already secured so the job of retooling the Pens should go to someone who can scour the league for undervalued professional talent. I see nothing that suggests Dubas is particularly good at that.

  6. Tulsky or botterill. Botterill helped build the sabres and made a risky trade to bring in tage Thompson that really panned out. Now he was part of the kraken build.

  7. You guys have such good radio voices haha. Especially Nick’s. You need to ride that to a high professional career👍🏼

  8. Great show as always! Love what you guys bring to the table every week! I also have Edmonton winning the cup in my Bracket but against the Leafs for the Canadian show down!

  9. I agree wholeheartedly with Malkin. The Pens have to get younger and faster.
This will lead to a difficult decision many Pens fans will not like. They will have to let all UFAs go except for Jarry. They will also need to move Grandlund and DeSmith. There are no real options to Jarry at 1A. They need a true 1B that can compete and play when /if he has another tough injury year.

They will also need to sign our RFAs, and two of them, along with O’Conner and Poehling will need to fill 4 of 6 bottom six positions. Plus, Smith should be the bottom pair left D.

This should leave enough money to sign three forwards in their mid to late 20s, including a 3rd line center, and a 1B goalie

  10. As a lifetime pens fan, I've seen the Pens go through lots of bad seasons.. and I can't remember being this disappointed. 100% the biggest need for the pens is goaltending. Jarry and De Smith just won't cut it.. It's not all their fault, but how many weak goals have they allowed in the 3rd period or important moments of games? That give away a few years ago by Jarry in OT against the Isles might have cost them the series.. I remember a game against NJ when they were up 6-0 (SIX-NOTHING) in the third period and almost blew the lead! I wish there was a stat for goalies in the third period bc I guarantee that both De Smith and Jarry would both have some of the worst GAA and Sv% in the NHL. After goaltending, they need speed. I don't think waiving Kapanen was a smart move, he just needed to be utilized better. If I were GM, I would let every single FA walk except for Poehling. Clear up that cap space and start again with younger and more speedy guys. For goalies, Varlamov (35 though) on a 2-year deal? Andersen? Hell, I would even rather have Korpisalo over Jarry. Let Zucker go, and go after a guy like Bertuzzi!
