Get rid of Sutter before doing anything. Keep Treliving (if he even wants to stay), then make a few moves. Trade Vladar out to make room for Wolf. Trade out one of the D core to get more scoring up front. No tear down required. Flames had 17 overtime losses. Take away 1/2 of those, and they were in the playoffs. I think Sutter is a toxic dinosaur, and is the root cause as to why lot of the players had bad seasons. They tuned him out, and had no interest in playing for him any longer.

Tanev and Hannafin both have M-NTC and probably do not want to go to Columbus. They are not get a 1st and a top prospect for Toffoli.

The Calgary flames forwards are paid 4th in the NHL. 60 % of salary cap. A head of the Oilers. Nashville forwards are last 32nd with 33% salary cap . The Kraken are 22nd at 42 % salary cap. This is a problem for Calgary !
Markstrom is a washed up waste of money from here on!! Oilers broke him in 22 playoffs!

Weeger was one of our better player in the last half of the season. They aren’t gonna trade him. The possible people that could get traded would be lindholm, huby, toffoli, kadri and mangiapane. Lindholm and toffoli would only get traded for to get a lot back. The rest would be traded because they didn’t play well and their contract is big. I also guess Darryl could possibly be traded too. I’d trade Oliver because his contract is more than Troy and Troy is the same play style as Oliver. They are gonna sign tanev back no way they would trade him. These people are literally blowing the flame up to be the worst team in history 🤦🏻♂️
Get rid of Dillon dube and Kadri and Anderson
As someone that knows Toffoli personally, and him being from Scarborough, although now lives in California, I'd love to see him on the Leafs.
I would probably trade Coleman, I really like him and he is a very good and consistent defensive forward who can put up points when needed. But we need space for some of our young talent. I would also just offer Lucic and Lewis jobs within the organization, and not playing contracts. It would also be nice to get more for Vladar than just a first round pick. He is going to be a really good goalie. btw Peeke, Bemstrom, and a 1st and a 4th for Tanev and Hanifin is outrageous. As for Sutter leave him as the head coach. He may be a cranky old dwarf who needs to give younger players a chance. But, he hasn't been the problem this year, he isn't the reason the Flames lead the league in posts hit. He is the reason they were able to keep from getting blown out every game though. I would look at moving Kadri, I think him and Sutter don't mix well, also it would be nice to not have a player who doesn't know where the blueline is. Also why the fuck would the Flames pick up Price's contract for Huberdeau. A guy who was finally starting to look comfortable on the team. We already have too many goalies and since Montreal is rebuilding they can hold on to Price's cap hit we can't
boot Markstrom, fire Sutter.

A one off year!! Markstrom alone cost the Flames 10 games!! Huberwho had a disastrous season!! Two main reasons why they didn't make the playoffs. Sutter still my Coach!!
I can't wait to throw it into all the haters face next year about this team because watch Kadri and Huberdeau next year now that they got a whole year of experience and chemistry to build of off

Wolf needs to be a starter next year. Being the Wranglers are in Calgary, the Flames will move him back and forth between starts. They probably have him in mind for a dozen starts. Maybe they move out Vladar and go sign a $1million backup.
Buffalo will not make that trade as Krebs is so much younger then Backlund.

I don't think Darryl should be fired. Look at the big picture. He got the flames to the playoffs last year and to the 2nd round. What has changed? They lost Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Those were players that if you hold on to them, good things will eventually come, just as they have for other teams that have held on to their star players. Now it's like they have to start over again. If Darryl gets fired, l won't be surprised if the flames soon end up at the bottom of the league again and once again starting a rebuild with the best draft picks they can get.
I hate the idea of trading Vladar, excellent goalie and superb human being, but Marky’s NMC means we are stuck with him for better or worse, and he is due for a monster bounce back season, so trading the Sith Lord’s $2.2M contract while his value is relatively high might make the most sense moving forward. Same sort of scenario with Tanev, guys a fkn warrior, but in the event we get Kyller back, and can save a couple mill by moving Tanev’s $4.5M, I’m happy with bringing Stech back to pair with General Zad, thought they played well together, with Gilly still under contract as a #7 and I’m also not opposed to bringing Stone back for another tour of duty for a milli. Hell fkn no to trading Hanny/Lindy. Or Toffoli, unless Timo accepts an offer sheet and the Devs don’t match 💪🏼
I don't know the contract status of any of the players, but I would be happy to see Lucic, Lewis, Dube, and perhaps Mangiapane traded (if possible). Start next season with Markstrom and Vladar tandem, with Wolf ready to call up if either starter struggles or gets injured.
