How will the Anaheim Ducks attempt at moving forward and making their team more competitive in 2022-23? Top 3 talent in the draft. Defensive prospect pool brimming with talent. Forward core getting another offseason to continue to get stronger and grow. This team is going to be a powerhouse sooner than people realize.

Eakins had an impossible task, have to feel bad for him. Decent coach, good with prospects, but Verbeek wanted his own hire. D core was brutal, changes needed. Gibson is getting shell shocked. He may want out even if Ducks land #1 pick. They have tons of cap space. They might become a haven for bad contracts to increase draft capitol, though not to the extent of Arizona. Even with Bedard, lot of work ahead, he's one player. Happy to see the off season plan series starting.

I really hope so, we have never gotten a 1st overall pick in our franchise history. We’re about due!
The Ducks prospect D men coming up next season don't get enough attention imo. Pavel Mintyukov was the best D man in OHL including spending most of the season in top 15 SKATERS in points. Owen Zellweger best D man in WHL this season and last season plus 2 stellar Jr cups. Jackson LaCombe was one of the best NCAA D men last 2 years including getting nominated for the Hobey Baker this season, and he looked pretty comfortable getting to play in last couple games of the NHL season.You add Drysdale coming back after pretty much missing the entire year and the terrible D looks waaaay more promising very quickly. Theres just to much talent coming at the same time to go with still rising young stars like McTavish Zegras Terry to think the Ducks won't be miles better very soon. Murray screwed the organization by hanging on to the past and soft retooling, Verbeek came in and did what needed to be done. Go DUCKS!
Well, the Ducks were clearly the worst team in the NHL, and the team stats back that up. Things can only get better for the Ducks but how long will it take to get back to true competitiveness is the real question.
Ducks did not try to tank – they just sucked really bad
