Amateur Sam Bennett off to A “Dream Start” at August National | The Masters

Sam Bennett meets with the media following his second round at The Masters.

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

  1. Still haven't fixed the mic. Hard "Ps" and sharp syllables cause hard clipping. Do the producers not listen back to these?

  2. “Augusta National” not “August National”. Great play, glad to see an amateur on the leaderboard. Being featured on YouTube channels and being on the biggest stage definitely grows the game!!!

  3. Kid is 23 and is US amateur champion. He definitely has a shot. Tiger won at 21. Spieth had two majors by 23 years old.

  4. If Sam can continue to golf his ball and ultimately win this Masters, it would be the greatest achievement I've seen in my 25 years of watching tournament golf. Best of luck to him.

  5. I've been expecting the pressure to get to him and collapse but he's cool as very impressive

  6. Of all the schools he just had to be from A&M huh 🤦🏼‍♂️.

  7. Maybe this guy is the next big thing…this century, in terms of golf legends, there has been Tiger and Phil, a number of hopefuls but no one to rack up the majors,,,,maybe Brooks can win a few more to make the grade…

  8. I love how he doesn't get caught up in the "HYPE" of playing with the pros… Just doing his thing hole by hole. Gigem

  9. Everyone is hyping Sam up but he is 23 and finished outside the top ten. Tiger won by 12 shots at 21!

  10. Mother and father left their mark indeed, hope Sam finds his journey in golf and life to be lifelong learning joyful experience.
    Fine young man, stay humble.
