While somewhat enlightening, it is really only a small piece of the puzzle. The sharks this season, would have had 4 star seasons with barabonov being 1 point shy of having a star season.

Players on playoff teams tend to have had better seasons than players on non-playoff teams. This is about as intuitive as it gets.
If you want to win in this league, you have to develop or acquire players who are going to score a lot of goals for you. Right now we have one defenseman and two forwards that one might call “stars” on our team. We had another but traded him.
It’s no surprise we finished near the bottom with that lack of firepower. Yes, Grier has his work cut out for him to build a contender. We have two guys in the pipeline right now that look like they will be stars. Definitely need to add a few more.

Our problem in 2019 must have been that we had *too many* stars, that’s why we lost to the blues.

No don’t worry guys. You can still win a cup when your best player is a 10th overall

I assume Dallas really brings up the average for playoff teams

Went from the team that was top heavy but didn’t have enough secondary scoring and a bunch of bums/goons playing the bottom 6, to now looking like we’ll have little to no top end talent, but a bunch of guys who at best are 2nd liners, and way too many guys who are great bottom 6 guys lol

What is their definition of a “star”?
