  1. Bergy should know better having price be his goalie for years that he should have let quick know earlier. IF quick was actually just blind sided, I feel it's just a crappy way to leave your home so abruptly after giving your hockey career and life to that organization and city. Regardless, when quick comes back to LA to play we can expect quite the tribute.

  2. I can't believe Blake did JQ this way. One of the top 3 Kings goalies ever. He should have ended his career in LA.

  3. Well, if he's gonna be playing for a dumpster fire like Columbus, at least he has two cup rings

Damn nvm. He's going to Vegas now

  4. I sure hope the Kings repay the favor and retire his number. Quick carried them to the Cup in 2012 and they probably don't win it in 2014 without him either.

  5. Quick is gonna get traded to a playoff team. Colombus has no business keeping him. Colombus might take a 2026 7th for him.

  6. I can understand Quicks anger,he should of been told of the Kings plans. But it was time to move on from him,he isn’t the same player that won those cups.

  7. This trade makes me sick… Hope the fans calls for Blake to get fired!

  8. This is a 100% spot on take, the issue isn't the trade, it will probably make the Kings better, it's the way it was done. Also, lets be honest, no Kings goalie has a save% of above .900, the team defense has been disappointing as well. The goalies (Quick included) haven't done them any favors, but man, this just feels gross.

  9. I’ve never been more devastated over a trade like this ever. Quick deserved to retire in LA.

  10. Man forget that dude. He wants to treated with professionalism but basically threw a temper tantrum like a toddler. He's refusing to report to his new team. No matter how he was treated it doesn't make it right the way he's acting.

  11. Everybody's sore about it, and you can certainly criticize the way it ended up going down. But there's no way in the world that Quickie didn't know it was possible.

He hasn't complained about losing the net, he hasn't even complained about being repeatedly pulled – that's NOT the fierce Jonathan Quick we all know, it's a Jonathan Quick whose confidence is gone. And most likely (unless he's been hiding an injury) his game is gone. He had to realize they were gonna need to get another goalie in. They couldn't just write off this year's playoffs so that he could finish out his contract, especially when he's told them he wants to keep playing. That means he wasn't going to retire a King anyway. He was going to walk in the summer.

They gave him every opportunity to get his game back since December, and he just doesn't have it. So you can compare him to Dustin Brown and say it's not fair that Brownie got to ride it out, but Brownie wasn't single handedly costing the team games as a sub-replacement level player.

  12. Quick was the sacrificial lamb since Blake was unable to find any takers on Petersen's contract whom Blake agreed with Cal when signed to be the heir apparent 3 or 4 years ago. Petersen unfortunately wasn't good enough to beat Quickie out as the starter while Quickie is no longer the Quickie Kings Fans expect during regular and playoff seasons. Kings are stuck in neutral. Good enough wouldn't cut it in this league.
