  1. I get that the Devils are young but that was sickening to watch. Rangers should probably win this series and are definitely more of a win-now team but hopefully Jersey makes it at least semi-interesting. A sweep where they are completely embarrassed could be a major setback in building a team that can truly contend.

  2. As a Ranger fan, I thought Jack Hughes was the best player on both sides last night. Not sure the Rangers really knocked him off anything. The kid can take over a game and may be the next closest thing to McDavid as far as skill carrying the puck. That said, the rest of the team wasn't overly impressive and if they think Hughes will carry them, they'll be out golfing in a few days. Vanicek will need to play on another level, because Igor has basically decided that pucks aren't getting past him. They got bullied last night.

  3. Somebody made a great point before the game, and that's that the devils dont' have another gear. They've been playing at full gear for the season, hence their success, and I doubt they have another level of speed, because it that wasn't their issue in game one. The Rangers played a structured defensive game to slow them down. They could skate 100mph in transition, but if they don't get many odd man rushes, it doesn't matter.

  4. I’m not sure I understand the praise for Igor tonight. The Devils never really gave him anything that he didn’t CLEARLY see coming. During the regular season, the Devils had no problem whizzing pucks by Igor, so there’s that.

  5. LOLOLOL experienced. I love all these chad ranger fans that forgot Rangers were the YOUNGEST AND LEAST experienced team in the playoffs last year and battled back from being down 3-1 to one of the most playoff experienced teams in the league. Absolutely love this false sense of security they think they have after 1 game.

  6. The Devils only know how to play one way all year, and now they have to play another style in the playoff. And I don't know if they can play another style; it showed last night.
The Rangers played a different game and excelled. I guess, that is playoff hockey that they learned last year.
And, please someone introduce Hughes to the ice or board?
