I can’t believe Horvat said this

I’m gonna go ahead and assume not many saw former Vancouver Canucks Captain Bo Horvat turning into the heel but after what he just said post game yesterday, I’m thinking there’s gonna be plenty of Canucks fans who aren’t too happy. After securing a 4-0 win over the Flyers to hold onto a wild card spot, Horvat was pulled aside for an interview and asked about how it felt with the atmosphere and the fans to which he responded “it’s a lot better than Vancouver, I’ll tell you that for free” . I cover this in todays NHL hockey video

  1. I honestly loved him even after he got traded. I hate him now. Fans stood by him and supported him and then he says that? CMON dude

  2. Taken out of context….Of course he is enjoying the playoff push because there has not been that many for the Canucks since he arrived. Still he should have just said he was enjoying it and not mentioned his former team.

  3. That’s what you get Vancouver. A beautiful city turned rotten by its people and the shitty Canucks franchise. Hate to say that. The Canucks are my second and I hate the Isles. Panthers fan.

  4. Horvat is a class act. He was 100% talking about the playoff push and not the fans lol he will still be beloved in Vancouver until the day he dies

  5. Shannon Hogan sucks at her job. I've never liked her. I think she's a phony and she asks compound questions like this all the time. She's the worst, and she only hasn't be fired because she's a woman.

  6. Hell yeah Bo. Vancouver needs to wake the hell up, clean house….players and management, of course and rebuild

  7. Canucks fan here, that was 100% for the management team. I take no slight and fully support Horvat in taking a jab at them. Hope he gets a good long playoff run this year.

  8. No reason he wouldn't be talking about the fans in the building. Vancouver is a notoriously terrible atmosphere to watch a game. Upper bowl fans are into the game, but tickets in the lower bowl are so expensive they are mostly bought up by corporations and half the people in those seats are on their phone most of the game.

  9. I think it's two fold. It's a shot at Vancouver as an organization (not the fans) and since it was a hot mic to the home arena he was giving those home fans something to cheer about.

  10. I think it was fine. I am born and raised in Vancouver and Bo is greatly loved here. I think it was more directed to the management and ownership. If any Vancouver fans disagree just remember how shitty we have been since 2011. Can’t blame the players and coaches for this consistent dumpster fire season after season.

  11. I am not sure what Bo intended here in this answer. When he left Vancouver, it was already clear the team was out of the playoffs entirely and there would be no excitement of a playoff run. He may have simply been referring to the reality of the team and an unhappy fan base By comparison, of course his current situation is better.

It’s hard for me to believe that any player who was a Captain of their team would go out of his way to throw shade at the former fan base who saw Horvat as the best part of that team.

  12. So because the Isles didn’t bring their skates today they’re golfing next week. Maybe Horvat can shut up about the Canucks while teeing it up with some of his old “friends”.

  13. Any true Vancouver fan, and/or fan of Horvat, knows precisely what he was saying. That was a shot at Vancouver management, and rightly so. Vancouver management is absolutely dogs**t, and the fans should be taking them to task.

This guy is just too humble and classy to ever take a shot at the fans that cheered him on for nearly a decade. It's just that simple. This isn't Jack Eichel.

  14. Bo held out for a massive contract because he was having a lucky season, basically forcing management to trade him to some other sucker that would overpay him. Now that he's got his cash, his production has dropped off massively. Coincidence? I think this guy has been overrated in terms of character, glad he's gone from Van.

  15. "ill tell you that for free"
well as a longtime islanders fan , he is yet another deal gone wrong like yashin and dipietro , wish we got horvat for free , 68 mil is way way to much . he has not been an integral part of this playoff stumble/push down to the last game for a playoff spot. quite frankly he sucks Vancouver take him back please and his outrageous contract . Lou was off his meds again when he made this deal with Borhot

  16. I don't hold it against him- Someone up in management is extremely toxic with a huge ego and is torpedoing our organization

  17. He threw shade at Vancouver for no reason, even if you're pissed at the organization, you have some class and just say how happy you are. He chose to bash Vancouver. Problem is the question was about the arena and fans, and he bashed the fans with that answer. His apology is back pedaling

  18. A brand new internet business just started up on Long Island…you can have a bag of dog poop sent to Bo's house, and for a $10.00 fee they will put it on his door mat and light it on fire.

  19. Could have said the fans in NY are great and he’s excited to be there didn’t have to mention anything about Vancouver, while he didn’t directly mention Vancouver fans, if you say anything like that, not only are you taking a jab at management but former coaches, teammates the city and the fans who showed you nothing but love, instead of a standing ovation when you come back be prepared for a lot of booing

  20. Theres no way this was directed at the Canucks fan base. The "environment" piece was likely more the team environment. As a Canucks fan, without a doubt we all know that the "environment" of the franchise has come out the oven and into the fire. From terrible management to mistreatment of beloved employees and players, we all want someone to come along and buyout and clean house. Not the team, not the players, but the management that doesn't stand on the ice.

  21. I'm glad this video was fair and pointed out the dual questions. I was very surprised at the media reaction immediately after, claiming Bo trashed the fans. Is it possible he was? Yes, but I doubt it. I think he was talking about the overall team situation. That said, probably best not to make a comment like that.

  22. Well obviously he has to pander to the Isles by acting like them, a pathetic child

  23. Bo: yeah, seems better than Vancouver…

Canucks fans: Le’ts boo him! Screw his years of devoted service, I hate him forever now!!

Bo: See what I mean? 🙄

  24. Horvat was responding to the 2nd question, not about the fans. I think Canucks fans just need a reason to be fine that he's no longer a Canuck.

  25. I threw my $350 Horvat Jersery in the garbage after hearing him say this about my Team and city. 8 year's of watching this loser…lose and do nothing to assist in winning even half the season games. I had fun throwing away my Horvat Jersey..more fun than watching him lose for my team game after game.. and I can tell you that for free.

  26. Look, to understand, you have to meet Canucks fans….ANYwhere you have a cluster of Canucks fans makes EVERYwhere else better. Just sayin, ahahaha 😅

  27. Canucks fan here… Most people seem to forget this was the captain of the team, which he led us to the playoffs just ONCE under his captaincy in 4.5 years. To put into perspective, Henrik Sedin led us to the playoffs 5 out of 9 years… Honestly, he didn't do his job as the captain! Take accountability for what happened Bo! That's what a captain does, takes responsibility… Management did mishandle a lot of things, but is that the reason for not making the playoffs? I don't think so

  28. He was absolutely talking about the fans….If you have ever been to a CanSucks home game you know exactly what this dude is talking about…the most clueless pretentious fanbase in hockey who does not deserve an NHL franchise. Torts actually had to apologize to the fans because he said he would be cheering on team USA at the Olympics. During their cup run the team was down by a goal in game 5 with 10 mins to go and the fans were all silent looking at their phones and taking selfies rather than rallying their team….they are fair weather fans only…..I LOVE the city of Vancouver but the people here are clueless trash who think they are way more important then they are. They cry over everything and cant handle any real adversity. Makes me hate living here but then I look at the mountains and remind myself I am not here for them.
