lockwood is fast he can be good 3rd/4th liner
leave it to the canucks to get all the russians when they start war with ukraine. we didnt have any russians for 2 decades pretty much since bure left.
I don't get your point…So what he was a top 10 pick?…He was a whiner…A peripheral player who treated the net front like he was allergic to it…Lazy on defense …Doesn't dig pucks out of the corners and soft as a marshmallow!!…Drury didn't pick him and his value has plummeted…What were you expecting back?

Agreed ..Lockwood is career ahl /4th line energy guy at best …7th rounder is pretty sad for the size speed and skill 23 year kravtsov bring who hasn't been giving the chance to shine with the top end Talent. Petey kuzmenko and kravtsov could be deadly line.. Peterson can make this guy into a star winger for sure. Great upside cheap grab for canucks…very surprised to see rangers give up on him this fast for this little return..
Kravtsov should've never ever been drafted in the 1st rd,he was a late 2nd or early 3rd at best.
Kravtsov will never ever be good because he he doesn't have the skill or talent to make it in the NHL.
Kravtsov didn't even win that last spot Othmann won it,but Drury wanted his stock to go up so he could trade him.
As the season went on not 1 team inquired about Kravtsov, he is weak and is only a 1 zone player,he is lazy and a cry baby!!
I actually hope he fails miserably because he actually deserves it especially after what he put the Rangers through the past 3 yrs..And as far as bringing in Kane,well that will just make the Rangers worse because Kane doesn't hit,block shots,or play defense!

the kid is a 21-year-old child, crybaby, who thinks you should just go up to the NHL and not play the game the way it should be played. When he’s on the ice he’s a minus player. He can’t skate he gets hit and He gets hurt, if he’s not in the lineup, he cries, he already left twice when he was 19 thinking that he should be in the NHL or I’m taking my toys and going back to the KHL. So the Rangers wouldn’t get fleeced if he was part of the Chicago trade?. Lol.. Do you know why he’s not part of the trade because not even Chicago wants this kid he’s a menace to hockey. No team wants him otherwise he would’ve been traded months ago. Fierce. We picked him in the first round. In the very next play the Islanders took Wahlstrom look at that kid. He’s a fierce player, high energy, not afraid to drop the gloves, can score goals, that’s what we passed up to pick another Russian player with no career stats that’s a crybaby. Who cares good redence..
I'm from Vancouver and honestly wanted defenseman not more right wingers..that saud we got a good pic whos still rookie that was picked behind our pic in 2018 who turned out to be a core player.
Now all that said he'll fit in nicely with our young core and we basically stole him for nothing so were happy here, now all we need is defense management and yiur off the hook🤣
Kratsov has been god awful, also complains non stop. Van fans are going to be upset when he does nothing and ends up going back to russia. His game will never translate to the NHL
Sorry Will Lockwood is likeable as a energy guy but he just doesn't bang and crash enough to earn a roster spot at an NHL level. He's been given several chances at the big show and just has never grabbed the reins. He's a guy who is a bottom six at the AHL level but is able to get a few goals there. He can be called up to give you a few games here and there but he's not Tyler Motte. Lockwood is speedy but doesn't have great hands or great hockey IQ. As such he can't use his speed to his advantage as he gets to places in a hurry but does nothing once he is there.
I wouldnt be surprised if the canucks have pre agreed to help finance a kane trade for NY, as a reason NY dropped the high pick requirement they originally wanted

I agree – Rangers threw this kid away for no reason. He's going to get a huge opportunity these remaining games to show what he can do – he is getting a tryout for sure. Lockwood has some upside but a marginal 4th liner at best. Surprised Rangers didn't get more.
Actually, they didn't. Kravtsov is 23 already. That's not ancient, but the chances of a 23 year old who hasn't yet cracked an NHL lineup becoming a superstar is highly unlikely. A player like him is either top 6 or bust. If he doesn't find his way onto a line with Pettersson or Miller, he's probably not going to make the NHL at all as a regular. In return, the Rangers get an effective, gritty, physical, fast bottom 6 forward. Lockwood doesn't have to crack the top 6 in Manhattan to be an effective NHLer. He'll be that guy who quickly becomes a fan favourite. It wasn't like NYR were doing anything with Kravtsov anyway. Lockwood will actually be useful come playoff time because his game is designed for playoff hockey. Think of him as a younger Tyler Motte. You can't win with offence alone – just ask the Canucks.
I like Lockwood. I always hoped he’d get a longer look in Vancouver. He can skate and hit. Simple stuff, really. But he’ll give you that and there might be a bit more there.
Best scenario for Vancouver is that coach Sergei Gonchar and Vancouver’s three Russian players straighten Kravtsov out. All three of those players have a gritty part to their game.

He didn't want to be in NY anyway. Not really a fleecing more addition by subtraction.
I have watched every single shift the kid had taken when he played for the Rangers. He showed absolutely NOTHING that indicated he was worthy of the 9th overall pick. an enormous miss by Jeff Gorton! He was so weak that he was continually muscled off the puck. shot was average. skating average. What has he done with the Canucks so far? 1 assist and -1 in 6 games getting about 14-15 minutes of ice time per game. He seems like a career KHL player to me. His game is much more suited to the less physical and bigger ice of the KHL, than the NHL.
