We need to remember that refs are human, and make mistakes, although the league has fail-safes in place that usually get the call right.
I personally like when the refs let the players govern themselves to a certain point.

Of all the major sports, NHL refs are by far the best and most consistently fair.
They make mistakes of course, but I really think they’re pretty fair overall.
Maybe they let a little more of the general roughing stuff go in the playoffs but not much.

No beef here either. I can live with an occasional mistake. As a fan of another sport which stops the game every few minutes to review a call or non-call, I’ll take the action of hockey every time.
I love a game that keeps moving and is over in 2 1/2 hours. So much better than the 4 hour marathons.

So far I have no complaints with the way the games are called. I like the fact they are letting them play

I was laughing at the Florida fans last night after Gudas essentially jumped Marchand repeatedly away from the puck, as they proclaimed “Refa are swallowing their whistles. Sweet!” and then proceeded to cry about no calls when Barkov tripped over his own foot. Typical hypocrisy.
I honestly don’t care if they want to call it tight, or let them play and only call the no doubters.
As long as it’s call that way for both sides, which has largely been the case so far.

Happens every year. Not that they are blind but they call it looser every year once playoffs start

Honestly the issue is the inconsistency. They don’t call any penalties until they do and then it’s called bs because the same thing happened multiple times without being called…

Man all this ref whining really ruins the experience. They have to make split second calls while fat lardasses sitting at home with one hand on a plate of nachos and the other hand on a beer get to criticize it with 17 different angles in slown motion 4k resolution.
Like yeah there are some bad calls, missed calls, and obvious make-up calls, but theyre doing their best. And unless you want each game to take 6 hours because they review every single thing for 5 minutes then just chill and enjoy the game.

Referees were shit in the regular season too

I’m glad they let them play. The 3 game suspension is a joke and makes the league look like one.
I am 100% convinced Parros has dirt on Bettman

If it’s not a penalty in May and June, shouldn’t be calling it in October to April.

Being a ref is a tough, thankless job

What makes this great is its coming from an oilers fan

This is hockey. Let them play. Fans and players are going soft

I think the biggest frustration is when it’s so blatant that an ESPN commentator can call it out. When THOSE calls aren’t being made, I’d say that’s an issue. Otherwise, let ‘em play as long as it isn’t intent to injure type of stuff.
