  1. It's disappointing to see the Canucks miss the playoffs again, but it's important to assess their strengths and weaknesses to improve next season.

  2. There's always next year, right? (cue thousands of Canucks fans screaming "NO" at their screens)

  3. The Canucks had some promising moments this year, but they lacked consistency and struggled with injuries to key players.

  4. Too many people hope that OEL and Myers are going to bounce back…every year.

Hope is not a way to gauge if a player/team is good, this team is bad until they're off the books

  5. Canucks management and ownership is Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day" but if he only tried the same failed string of behavior for decades in that loop and sadly I'm stuck in there too as a fan.

  6. I’m only 26 years old, but I think I’m finally at Shannon’s point where I don’t expect them to win a cup in my lifetime.

If they’re lucky and everything goes their way, the Canucks can get a wild card maybe (which even that is rough given how the top 4 Pacific teams had over 100 points, and Calgary had over 90). And that’s about it, I don’t see a deep run in the cards.

  7. One positive for the Canucks this offseason is that this is the first year in god knows how long that the entire core is healthy and 100% ending the season. Petey Hughes Miller Demko Kuzmenko being 100% at the start of the season will be something the Canucks haven't experienced in years.

  8. After 15 years of being a Canucks fan I finally understood, this year, after the Bruce situation, why Shannon has multiple favorite teams. No sane person can stay just a Canucks fan for life, it will ruin Hockey for you.
Jumped onboard the Kraken fandom near the all-star game, and have been genuinely enjoying hockey again, while I will always love the Canucks, they're just too much. The fans are toxic, which is why other fans laugh at them, they're always angry and calling for players to be launched into the sun, along with coaches, management, etc, the second something goes wrong. It'll kill your enjoyment of the great game of Hockey.

  9. hobbits on ice…They refuse to bring in toughness and grit. they keep looking to find the next cost effective Kevin Fiala type player. they draft these types (lekkermakki) they trade for these types (kravstov) and a whole farm system of these types. Until they start looking outside the box like with Dakota they are always going to be a soft team over the cap.

  10. Maybe not a complete rebuild. Need to move some expensive contracts and bring in some players on a low cap hit.

  11. I think you could repeat 70% of this for the Flyers video & I wouldn't notice.

  12. Leave it to Shannon to be surprised that Vancouver didn't have a clear outline of the future lol

  13. Can someone explain to me how the Canucks are over the cap next season? No matter what contracts I count it doesn’t add up to the 85m. Even less so when the listed roster size of those 85m is 19 players. What am I missing?

  14. If they go to the skate full time again i’d be severely disappointed.

  15. Elite top talent that makes the team way too good to bottom out, and get a generational talent. Terrible depth and inconsistent results make the team not good enough to be a contender, and merely aspire for a playoff spot so that Slumlord Aquilini can get his two home playoff game revenue.

Same old, same old. See you all there next year!

  16. The fact that ownership wont pony up the cash for a permanent training facility says it all really. What a joke, this team will never do well woth this ownership

  17. Im a Rangers fan but I have a admiration for the Canucks and this passionate fanbase! Shannon led the way, engaging with you as we debated over a potential trade last year for JT Miller (I miss that psycho ❤) – NOT GETTING SCHNEIDER!

Canucks gotta get the roster organized with Good Contracts not just Good Players. You certainly have some of the best players in the league though. With additional picks and players coming in, I am hopeful that the franchise has promising days ahead! Hang in there!

Find solace in the Flames underachieving and the Leafs doing Leafs things? 🇨🇦🇺🇸

  18. As I was a fan in the 1980's of the Canucks. I'm traumatized from the Downhill Skate era. I do not like the Star Wars Skate. Black is fine with the Orca. I don't even mind Stick in Rick or Johnny Canuck.

  19. I find it hard to laugh at those facing adversity. It certainly deflates my view of a fan base, as it must to the players & team, which we know read & hear the comments as well. Prior to the Canucks entering the NHL I was a die-hard Canadiens fan from my youth onwards during all those Stanley Cup runs. (I still root for them as my second team). The days of the original 6 & NHL team dynasties are long gone. That said, I have felt disappointment as well during the Canucks coming so close to the Stanley Cup in their past runs but it demonstrates they CAN do it! I remain optimistic at the beginning of each season as a new start for the Canucks & a run for the Cup in the very near future.
