The New Jersey Devils will have a chance to redeem themselves against the New York Rangers in game two of the first round. Alex Chauvancy (The Hockey Writers) joined me on today’s episode and shared some of his thoughts after the Devils’ embarrassing loss in game one. We also discussed our expectations heading into game two. It might not be a “must-win” game, but I’m sure the Devils don’t want to fall 0-2 heading into Madison Square Garden.

Welp, the Devils either respond like the Panthers, Stars and Oilers did last night or we join the ranks of the Islanders.
I look at a team like the Stars with envy, they can seemingly score at will on the PP. The boys and Andrew Brunette have got some work to do. And our PK can't leave Kreider all alone down low.
Luke should be in with Jack on PP unit
im a rangers fan and just find it more interesting to listen to the opposition. Any rags fan telling u to give up is crazy. Devils can easily win this series – I hope they don't but they definitely could.

One good thing is, we played better as much in the 2nd and 3rd, clean up the pp v play better less peneltys and I think we can do this
Yegor is the best pk player on the team. They need him out there. If the team is relying on wood or lazar to score goals, we're done anyway
Who do u take out o put luke in? No way I'm taking out bahl. Severson wasn't playing terrible, but he's a mistake waiting to happen. However he's a right shot. So your basically talking graves or seigenthaler, and I'm not pulling them for luke. So you're left with pulling a fwd. So you're talking about scratching boqvist, wood, or lazar, and going with 7 d?
Yeah, jitters could be a reason for the way the team played, but overall, I think if Vitek plays more aggressive he would have had more success. He looked like he was playing scared constantly back in the goal-line. Brush it off, get loose and challenge the shooters. If he does that and the D-men tighten it up a bit, the Rangers high danger chances will decrease and the Devils will be able to take to the transition faster like they l’ve done all season leading to their own high danger chances.
Also, please don’t have “Jersey Joe” on again. The guy’s a joke that doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I can’t believe he has his own Devils podcast and would be even more surprised if people really listened to him. This Alex guy is much better. He has solid and thought-out insight and is much more mature than “Jersey Joke”. I mean, “Jersey Jackass” was calling Wood “Deadwood” like he’s being witty or something. It just came off immature and overall, his whole attitude and off-the-wall ideas rubbed me the wrong way….. Start a fight right at opening face off!?! What a joke. Love listening to you, but that dude was awful.
Igor is fully locked in has for 10 plus games now I'm just being realistic. Vitek has yet to have a good playoff game in his career I can't see em winning I pray I'm wrong
