If I was Robertson and got sent to the Marlies while Mikheyev complains and wants a trade I would be pissed and I would also ask for a trade.
Any player that does not want to be a Leaf trade him now or send him to the Marlies.

Quite honestly … with toronto in the position they are in & also after all the leafs have done for him …. I'd make him sit or go play in the AHL with that attitude after all toronto has done for him. Let him go back to the khl or what not.
Mikeyev is a decent player but cannot finish. He will get a chance and if he plays great, awesome but if he doesn’t he will just go on waivers lol

Couldnt agree more Drew, hes a ghost, hes playing for a club that treats him 1st class, and then he asks for a trade. Only reason I can see why Dubas might want to keep him around, is because hes hoping 65 goes out and gets some points and raises his trade value. Even then, hes not a good player. Hes a borderline nhl player and his value is peanuts

Thank God your so Straight Up about players Andrew.. you hit the Nail right on the Head here!! Any top 6 player should have to ability to Finish and Shoot the Puck at the NHL level!! If not you play another role that doesn’t count on scoring goals but keeping other teams from scoring. Give Robertson the chance, he has shown he can score and now with a few years under his belt out of Junior, a few years of growing and conditioning at the pro level he will be ready for that chance and will probably produce!! Never thought this would happen but i agree with you Andrew…Soup wants to go…show him the door…save some cap maybe and rid ourselves of a sour puss on the bench…..Leafs left side is a hodge podge right now and who knows where anyone will finally slot in until they start playing together…..if it's not Robertson then sign a guy like DOnato for cheap…..or maybe instead of using cap on a forward which we seem to have a lot of pick up Jason Demers to add depth on D….the guy likes to hit which is somehting we lost with Bogosian

If we are going to centre out this kid then we should jump all over Mathews. Making millions and proves nothing. Let's be real if it wasn't for Marner Mathews wouldn't be half as good prove me wrong. Would love to see a Tavares, Marner , and Micheal Bunting. If Mathews is so good then he can play with anyone right. Here is what happened. Mikheyev knows everything you are talking about. He sees all the additions and the up & comers. He had a horrific injury and a bum season. He probably felt like Sh*t just like everyone else and figured starting fresh somewhere was a good idea. Ice time as an issue doesn't necessarily mean "past ice-time" . It could very well mean future ice-time.
Enter Dubas. " Hey man, chill. We still believe in you. Put yourself in Marners shoes.. he feels like shit too. We all feel like shit. Let's suck it up. Show the world how all your missed breakaways can now be converted a year after surgery, at least at 50%, and BOOM your a 20 goal scorer."
Dubas just doing some psychology. I don't think Mikheyev believes he deserves more that 15 mins ice time on this team.
If I remember correctly, didn't Dubas want a competition amongst his forwards? They seem to have a glut of them aside from the big four. I'd rather trade him for some sort of dependable 3rd line D or somehow get someone to play Left wing that they can rely on.

The optics here are quite bad. The Leafs supported him through his injury with above and beyond care. His performance post injury has been lack lustre and the player is demanding more ice time and now a trade. Trade him, if for no other reason than to unload is cap hit

Great video Andrew I definitely agree the Leafs might as well trade him and give Nick Robertson a chance to play since he’s looking good in development camp he’s cheaper and the 1.6 mill comes off the books.

a bigger role , what power play time? you have to be crazy , accept your role as a third or forth line player , check , back check and play defensive hockey that's your role if you don't like save the team some money , there is always the KHL c'ya
