Before 2022 playoffs – underrated. We used to say yāall forgot about Drai a lot more.
After 2022 playoffs – on peoples radar much more. Consistently referred to as a top 5 player. As of late more people are mentioning maybe as high as #2.
What's underrated? He gets tons of recognition, way more than 99.9% of players and all of the other stars in the league except Crosby and McDavid at this point, even in America

Itās pretty hilarious that you put in a clip of Leon playing against Ekholm when Ekholm was with Nashville lol. Just reminds me of the interview that Mathias had after playing a few in Edmonton, whether he preferred being on this side playing with them, or against Leon and Connor and he was super elated to not be playing against them anymore haha. But Leon is one of the most team focused, pass the accolades to everyone slice of humble pie and that really spoke to me. Such a nice guy too.

Draisaitl is an absolute unit. Itās hard to thrive in your own light with mcjesus as your teammate. Nuge had a career year this year as well and he always seems like a passing mention.
I personally wouldn't call a former Hart winner underrated lmao, its more the fact he plays with McDavid rather than he's underrated.

Went to one of his games in Nashville where he got a hat trick, the assistant coach knew my dad and knew he was my favorite player so after the game I got his stick signed!
Leon is NOT underrated! Maybe after McD he is but otherwise heās considered by most to be the second best player in the gameā¦batting it out with only McKinnon for second. If not for McD it would be Leon vs two other selections for the Hart. I donāt think the NHL want two players on the same team in the top three for that award. How is that underrated?

Saw him play in person for the first time the other night against the Avs. Nobody could get this man off the puck. His body positioning and puck protection was what stood out the most

128 points for the season. Sure he isn't as good as McDavid but hes by far the second highest scorer for the season.
For those who think Leon is one dimensional and is just a power play specialist, usually those who don't actually watch him, only 1/3 of his points are PPP in the playoff's. 59 in 37 games with 20 PPP. He's a complete player by any standard.
As a Oilers fan Iām going to say that Mackinnon is without a doubt the 2nd best player in the world. McDavid is the best playmaker in the nhl Drai is the best passer tho
