Flames Season Ticket renewals are out… One fan posted their interaction on Twitter.

Well boys and girls, it’s that time of year again where Murray needs fans to pay his bills. One twitter user posted her interaction with her ticket rep. Was kinda hoping she would post what they wrote to her before and after.

I would gladly share mine, but on a different note— I googled my account rep and it turns out he is a hardcore Oilers fan. As in, his profile picture is him in a Bryzgalov Oilers jersey with a picture of him and Bob Stauffer. His profile description is “not so secret secret agent”. Are the Flames cool with this? What’s going on with every facet of this org?

I don’t agree with all of your points (fan base calling for a rebuild?) but I support your general stance and glad you let em hear it
As a glutton for “throat punches” (well put), I’m always optimistic but science damn it
    Cheers – let’s go flambeau

    You nailed that response!

Totally captures all my frustrations as a flames fan and continuing to spend money on a franchise that never seems to love us back

Props to that guy for the response. Truly how a lot of us feel

Interesting. People vote with their dollars. I’m interested to see how many people feel the same way. $4,000-10,000 is a lot to pay per seat for this quality of hockey.

If it does have an effect, I wonder if Flames will change business tactics to increase value, tweak the on I’ve product or both.

I personally can’t justify spending money on the team atm. Not even to do the pay per view tv broadcasts. It’s either “free” streaming or radio. And even then I found myself not paying attention the last 15 or so games, and only checking the scores/highlights.

This team is depressing to watch in its current form, which is sad. And I don’t need that negative crap in my life.

  7. I really don’t understand why people cry for rebuilds so much. You are complaining about sucking but then are asking for them to suck even more with a rebuild and rebuilds take fucking years until your team is even decent enough to make the playoffs. We’d wait a decade plus for team that maybe will be as good as our 2021-2022 team and even then thats not guaranteed. I don’t envy teams like Chicago and Arizona that are in the thick of it and will be for many years to come. The Oilers had so many first overall picks and still sucked but got insanely gifted and lucky with McDavid. The Flames however have never drafted in the top 3 and there is no guarantee that if we do those picks will turn out just like how many of the Oilers picks didn’t turn out. People view rebuilds with rose petal glasses and just assume their team will draft insanely well and become a cup contender in a few years which isn’t realistic at all. Anyway my major annoyance with this response is saying the team is shit and not worth the money but wanting them to become even shittier and somehow then being worth it? Makes no sense once so ever and if you are mad about missing the playoffs this year a rebuild will solidify us missing the playoffs for a long ass time.

Win the division, make the second round one year, barely miss the playoffs the next. CANCEL MY SEASON TICKETS.

    Good riddance.

You love to see it. Fuck Murray Edward’s.

Tough to argue against her points here. We all know we have an owner whose bottom line better be black at the end of the season. This is really frustrating because it prevents us from:

    a) selling assets when we really should be selling

    b) being bad enough to get ourselves a true franchise altering top pick

I’ve been a season ticket holders for 21 years myself and every year it’s becoming a harder to click that renew button. It’s the culture of the 80s and 90s that brought me in, but hasn’t been like that for 25 years.

Might be time to get out too

I’m genuinely surprised at how much rebuild is being thrown around after this season. It was disappointing, but I would say we are closer to a playoff team then we are to being a bottom feeder, and I still think trying to chase in this window (of another 1-2 years) would be the right move considering how locked in the roster is.

With that said, props for sharing your thoughts and being honest. May fall on deaf ears but the only way to get millionaires to listen is by hitting their pocket books

I hope that wasn’t Barb who quit on her season tickets. She’s our only hope.

It seems you’ve called out the players, the ownership, and the GM, but the main issue is probably the coach (which is also an ownership issue of course) so I was surprised to not see it in there.

I understand why people are are upset, but this year I’ll be buying season tickets for the first time. Watching Flames hockey on TV is okay, but watching a game live at the dome is a whole different experience for me and my girlfriend. Win or loose I still end up having a great time at the Saddledome drinking domefoams and eating pocketdawgs. I’m not going to let one bad/unlucky season completely change my mind about the Flames.

Watching playoff hockey has only made me more pumped about next season!

    Go Flames Go

Good. Maybe if more people stop going ownership will notice
